Lowlander, Covent Garden

The Lowlander has a huge selection of beers and a fair selection of cocktails.

Yes, the staff aren't amazing and it does have a slight chain feel to it (the seats downstairs are arranged in long rows like a school canteen) but if you want a fun evening sampling beers from around Europe this is the place to go.

Revolution Bar, Soho

A fair variety of Vodka, great music but really packed. A little bit of a snotty croud, but easy enough to ignore.

The Lamb and Flag, Covent Garden

Full of atmosphere, this place is heaving with men in suits - the windows get steamy with so many customers jammed in.

Over two floors, you can usually get a seat if you go upstairs and are willing to share. If you don't look too closely you can avoid the slightly grimey loos and sweaty glasses.

The Kemble's Head, Covent Garden

This was my local for over a year, a real old man pub with a hot barmaid, the grime only added to the atmosphere.

Not the best selection of beers but still a great place. Closed down after it changed hands and is now boarded up.

Does anyone know what will happen to it now?
