The Albany, Thames Ditton

Not the best advert for a gastropub, average food, indifferent service and expect a long long wait for anything to come. Not that they most prob mind because due to the location it always seems busy - here is the crux why do I go back when I always have the same issues? I need to look at myself, just wish they would look at themselves too.

The Eagle, Shepherds Bush

Nice enough pub, identikit gastropub but very busy on a Wednesday which is a good sign and has a lovely garden. Food is meant to be OK but didn't stay as all their ales were off. Think you'd need to stay here to see the charm of the place and be persuaded to return as initially lacking - I didn't so most probably won't

The Duke, Richmond

Nice decor but lacking in atmosphere on a Wednesday evening. Big and spacious with definite emphasis on food. Shocking prices of 4.05 for a guinness and 3.85 for a becks. Better pubs in Richmond but hear the food is very good.

The Ruby Grand, Hammersmith

Average at best. Nice garden, decor OK but dining room distinctly empty, we had a table booked so had dinner - now realise why empty dining room. Would go in for a relaxing drink in the week maybe but not much more

The Abercorn Arms, Teddington

Unsure about this place, it all looks lovely in a modern refurbished pub way and the staff were friendly but it was very quiet and lacks a bit of atmosphere, may be the prices which seemed very high. I'd give it another go as it was mid week and apparently the food is good

The Masons Arms, Teddington

A rare thing, a traditional pub imporved with a refit and that serves excellent beer and has friendly staff making you feel welcome. A bit male dominated but hopefully it will go from strength to strength as areas need well run pubs like this for chatting with locals and avoiding braying teenagers.

The Anglesea Arms, Hammersmith

Well worth a trip to find this great little pub packed with atmosphere, nice beer and great food. Food was pricey but a high standard and always busy which is a good sign. Recommended.

The White Horse, Richmond

Initially put off by the huge bar but with no seating around it and seemed to be more of a restaurant however after a lovely evening changed my view to say well run pub, good beer and nice clientele. Didn't try the food but looked very good and will be back to try it.

The White Swan, Richmond

Lovely little pub that serves good beer - Landlord, Tribute and Pride on tap- and has a very good food offering. Staff are friendly and it has a good mix of locals and diners. It can get very busy with a lovely garden out the back but worth a trip across the green.

The Prince Blucher, Twickenham

Does what a pub should do well. Friendly staff, excellent beer, good layout and good mix of locals. Excellent place.

One Paradise Road, Richmond

Closed for refurbishment...again. Not sure about best beer on tap - they have one and that runs out and not sure they are aware of line cleaning. Still go in this place for old times sake now and again and if they get this place right it could be great but lost its appeal a long time ago. Shame

The Marlborough, Richmond

Nice place for a drink disappointing for food- attractive bar, spacious with comfortable seats. Can get very busy in summer but service has improved. Food is distinctly average here though - just my opinion I keep trying as I want to like the place but the last three times been very disappointed. Also overpriced -4.80 for artisian bread, a thimble of pesto and thimble of oil! Stink to a drink and you'll be happy!

The Clock House, Teddington

Friendly teddington local that serves good beer in a relaxed atmosphere. Bar staff are attentive, bar is clean food is strong whilst the locals amiable. Top marks for a weeday evening drink.

The Teddington Arms, Teddington

Should like this more but feels to impersonal, the beer is fine, food OK but it leaves you wanting more. Agree with The Chairman that it is better in the afternoon, tend to avoid in the evenings. Haven't tried the Sunday service but will, maybe that's more for me.

The Builders Arms, Teddington

Haven't been to the builders for 3 to 4 years and was pleasantly surprised. Has regained it's homely friendly feel, was disgustingly dirty last time. Nice pint and a welcome back street 'local' when all around we are losing them. Will be back to see if this is the norm but congrats to bar team and management so far.
