Well after a year of going up there when the pub decided to close at 9:30pm on a Sunday we decided to give it another chance on a Sunday, big mistake this time the decision to close happened at 5:30pm.

Although very popular due to the excellent quiz on a Thursday, this pub is one of the most expensive I know, shame as I would probably visit it more frequently, even though it is quite a distance for me. By the way the landlord decided to close one Sunday whilst we were in there because he was bored. Not very professional as we had all got a cab there in the first place

Worst pub I have been in the world, kept the emergency services busy though. I agree with Brighton201, in that the people that went there were extremely arrogant and thought a good night out was to give someone a kicking. Shame that now this kennel is closed, the dogs have gone to the other, much better pubs

On one occasion I was served a pint that had to be 75% line cleaner, mind you I got a replacement WITHOUT an apology. Better pubs in town

Do not go to this pub if you are an off duty police officer they only ask you to leave, however the beer is ok

Ignore the girl above who obviously is jealous of the attractive bar staff, I visit this pub regularly and there is never any trouble in there and all staff are friendly. This pub is The Winchester of Haywards Heath, (Shaun of the Dead)

The Friars Oak, Hassocks
***********DO NOT EAT HERE**************
Do not be fooled but this pubs charming exterior, the experience goes downhill once you walk through the front door. Today my mum and her two sisters went to 'The Friars Oak' for their Christmas meal together. They initially had to wait half an hour for there drink, then another half hour for their starter, followed by a further 45 minutes for their main, which when it came had potatoes burnt to a crisp as if Santa had brought them down the chimney with a fire still burning like the flames in hell, whilst the remainder of the meal was so cold it had come from Lapland. As if this wasn't bad enough, they had to wait another 30 minutes for dessert but prior to getting it was told they had to leave due to a party of 40 arriving. Two words to describe their experience at this pub, HUMILIATING and DISAPPOINTING.
