The Cambridge Blue, Cambridge

Always a good selection of excellent beer / Food is normally top notch and good value for money, though you may have to wait for it if they are busy / Lovely friendly atmosphere.

Crooked Billet, Stevenage

A good pub in a quiet "perfect for summer" location.
Three ales; one is a guest - though supply can be eratic and some may run out.
Has bench tables on the green and a childrens play area. The large main bar is child friendly and the 'sports bar' is over 18's only.

The Bricklayers Arms, Bishop's Stortford

A great 'locals' pub; two bars and a small patio area at the rear. The bar to the left is normally the louder with tradesmen letting off steam after clocking off early to shoot pool or watch footy. The right/front bar is normally quieter.
Landlord & Lady are gems welcoming and friendly.
Normally they have 2 good real ales along with a guest ale.
Well worth a visit !

The Half Moon, Bishop's Stortford

Great selection of real ale, with a rotation of guest ales, at a reasonable price - served by friendly, albeit cheeky, staff. Also the usual spirits and a selection of reasonable wines.
Now undergoing a most needed revamp under the new owners and lovely landlady. It should turn out to be a tasteful update to the establishments antique feel.
Quite a venue on the music scene, though I have never been to a gig there yet.
It has a choice of two bars and a small offshoot room to the rear of the upper bar. The lower bar has a number of tables and a rubber pig (it used to be a rubber chicken!) hanging from the ceiling to Oink for attention when staff are in the upper bar and beware the informal rule; you buy the staff a drink if you oink when they are there already!
Nice hidden garden at the rear and a nice courtyard space too.
Normally has a paper or two, which you can peruse if you have popped in on your own for a quick pint.
A very good place to meet for a friendly drink - Especially if like good ale.

The Fountain, Bishops Stortford

On the surface a classy bar / restaurant that is certainly better than the pub which was there before it But:
Drinks are expensive and the cocktails lack the attention to detail to make them value for money. The food is also very soso they didnt seem to have a real chef one my two visits all the food seemed to be re-heat packet stuff! The staff didnt seem very friendly either !
So its expensive & a bit too pretentious, yet lacks any the attention to detail or quality to back it up.

The Bull and Butcher, Fenny Stratford

A friendly 'locals' pub, with character and lots of interesting horse brasses.
Normally has 2 real ales - but on my visit only 1 was still available and was very nice.
All said, a nice place to have a drink.
