Patricks, Bangor

Fantastic little pub. Full of students and locals. The owner makes all very welcome and keeps a good house

The Famous George, Seaton

I don't know about the Famous George, should be renamed the Infamous George, based on the cliental it now attracts. Once again another fine pub gone to the dogs. The days when you could get a pint of Newquay Steam Beer and a good meal have long since past. On a recent venture to see how it was being run, I must admit to feeling slightly uncomfortable and made a hasty exit leaving the youths to their lagers.

Ship Inn, Axmouth

Totally agree. This was once a thriving pub and restaurant now seems more like a final resting place for days gone by.

The Kingfisher, Colyton

After a long absence from devon I returned to this pub only to find it devoid of customers. It would appear that the old owners had moved on. What a shame. The beer is not as well kept and certainly over priced, the food was mediocre and not particularly well cooked. Where have all the locals gone? This was once a thriving little pub at the heart of the community. The answer might well lay with the owner who at best was abrupt and unwelcoming, dare I suggest a little intoxicated? Such a shame, I Don't think I shall return again.

The Gerrard Arms, Colyton

Fantastic little pub. Good beer and cider, a friendly welcome and fantastic food at a very reasonable price. What a pity they only cook Fri/Sat nites and sun lunch. Well worth a visit

Dolphin Hotel, Beer

Very disappointing meal. Chefs idea of lobster thermidor was to melt a block of cheese over it. Fish platter scrag ends full of bones. A very expensive let down. Beer good but will not eat there again
