I have been here at the weekend when it's not busy, and it was fine for a dull and soulless chain pub. I imagine rudeness on the part of the staff is a fairly standard response to the regular city boy punters...

The Royal Standard, Wandsworth

Really nice pub, nicely real pub. With no kitchen the aforementioned takeaway option is an excellent idea, the beer is well kept, there's enough in the way of entertainments for what is a small bar and there's no pretentiousness. A place to drink for certain.

The White Horse, Parsons Green

Met a friend who's back in the country for a couple of weeks here last night. I've been before and was aware of the sloaney leanings, but if you want excellent beer and food served by knowledgeable and attentive staff then it's definitely worth learning to live with the other clientele. Or alternatively, fill it with enough like-minded people so that they have to go to Aragon House...

The Park Tavern, Southfields

As noted by others, the eagerly awaited refurb has been completed and doesn't disappoint. The courtyard garden is a big plus and will be great for the summer, the menu looks good (made me eager to stay and eat despite other plans last night) and the mix of tables and comfy seating seem really well balanced. Had a good pint of draft San Miguel, will be back to check on the ales soon...
