The Kings Arms, Fleetwood

Part of a large pub chain. Weekends are busy as prices are low. A couple of real ales in good condition are usually on offer. Can get a bit 'boisterous' with local 'characters', but generally well run with bouncers on the door at weekends.

'Dead-uns' is now open after a refurbishment and new landlady etc. The beer is kept in superb condition with around 6 real ales and is a credit to the staff. A gem of a pub really with original victorian features that deserves to be better frequented. Discount for CAMRA members. Give it a try if you like good real ale served correctly.
Entertainment on weekends usually.............seperate from the clients that is!

Strawberry Gardens, Fleetwood

Goes from strength to strength. Winner of CAMRA Fylde Pub of the Year 2013. Friendly staff, CAMRA discount, good entertainment, (especially when The Blue Pig Orchestra are playing). Good food c/o Mr and Mrs Sid Little. Oh, and did anyone mention the well kept real ale...............s.

The Vic Bar, Fleetwood

Always busy on Saturday nights with entertainment, (bands) are on, or when local events are in the vicinity of the Hotel. Real ale is a bit hit and miss, but usually drinkable. A superb stained glass mural is over the bar, which needs to have the backlights switched on to get the full effect. Unfortunately the bars manager must personally pay the electric bill as the last few times I have been in the mural was unlit, which mutes the atmosphere a little..........shame.

Has been closed, but due to open after refurbishment by The Fleetwood Pub Company who also own the CAMRA Fylde Pub of the Year, The Strawberry Arms. Should be good. It is known locally as "ded'uns". (answers on a post card please!).

I usually go just at weekends as I do not live in Fleetwood. A great pub. Not only 12 real ales, real ciders, friendly staff and customers, good food, folk club, darts, pool, days out, beer festival, bowling green to the rear, a quieter area, newspaper, parking, original local art work, showbiz connection...........but also now......TA DAH!........ music on most Friday and Saturday nights! You have the option to go to a quieter area if it does not suit you. What a turnaround for this once 'best give that a miss' pub. (ps.. can you run to having a foot rest around the 'vaults' bar please to go with the handy coat hooks)......... ta.

Now a great pub again with at present 12 real ales + real cider. No TV but live entertainment most weekends, (seperate in the lounge bar). The Fleetwood Folk Club meeting place. Good pleasant staff with discount for CAMRA members. It is also the tap for Fuzzy Duck brewery with plans to bring the brewery to empty premises to the rear of the pub. Most Fleetwood pub goers cannot believe this turnaround, but lets hope this time this great building continues as a profitable concern and does not change too much from its present format..........cheers!

The Sun Inn, Llangollen

Visited this pub with friends for the last few years in Feb. Always superb. Great bands on Fri/Sat. But on the other hand, visit at tea time and settle down by the fireside(s) for a quiet pint or two and then watch the pub transform to almost a night club atmosphere as the evening wears on. It's all things to all people. Be sure to visit the loos for a go on the worlds most powerful, (and noisy), hand drier........really! All credit to the landlord for buying this place and apparently making it his lifetimes work to improve it without destroying what a pub should be.

After a fabulous New Years Eve with "The Blue Pig Orchestra", the landlord cried enough and left on the 4th January 2010, after the owners reluctance to assist him keep the pub profitable. The place is now shut. Why can't these pub owners see that it is better to have a place open making a little profit than have them shut and making none at all. All the best to John and Lynne for their future.

Shut again.......as it deserved to be!

Last time I was in with a group of mates on a Friday the atmosphere was horrible with violence in the air from the mostly young people who seem to frequent it. We only went in for the band that was playing. My friend, who is from Droitwich, asked the landlord if he had any mild on, to be told that,"No one drinks mild any more", (ie he can't be bothered and he can't sell it to the kids). I had to smile when my mate said, "That's funny 'cause I've just had three pints of Black Cat Mild in The Mount". The landlord who is not a small chap was a not amused..........Ho hum! The phrase a bit of a rough place comes to mind.

John and Lynn have improved this pub tremendously. They are friendly and the place is kept well with the beer always spot on. Adnams is the resident cask with two guests that change every Thurs-Sunday. They had a well supported band night on 7th Nov and there was a real buzz once the place was busy. They are hoping for the same band/group, (the very talented Blue Pig Orchestra), to play on New Years Eve after the general 'feel good' factor that a good crowd brought to the place. The overheads on this place must be very large and it deserves to be better frequented.

Fleetwood Arms, Fleetwood

Presently only open at weekends and the building/business is for sale. A shame, but a sign of the times.

Marine Hall, Fleetwood

Whoever is responsible for the decision to ruin this CAMRA Fylde award winner should be ashamed of themselves. It may have needed a 'tidy up', but not to be kicked dragging and screaming into the 1970's, with a cheap makeover. It was a period piece of true 1960's style which just wanted new upholstery, seats, lamps and ceiling tiles.

Strawberry Gardens, Fleetwood

As at early December is now shut down. Rumour is that the rent was put up to an unreasonable level and so no profit to be made.

New landlord is now in residence and deserves support as he is trying to turn the pub around. He is a real ale enthusiast and has Boddingtons, (which the pub has always had), plus two others which he keeps really well. Realistically this is all he can justify at the moment, but he hopes to obtain the Cask Marque as soon practicable. The place is cleaner and he plans to re-decorate the 'sports bar' in the new year.
He is very approachable and this is his first pub, so all credit to him for taking on such a large property. His dream would be to open the vaults again!
