The Hope and Anchor, Bristol

Food comes in massive portions -the sandwiches are a meal in themselves, good atmos, and the garden out the back is nice in the summer (if you can get a seat).

The Goldhawk, Shepherds Bush

I happened to really like the place. Fruhli by the half pint was a novelty, and great selection of foreign lagers (Kolsch, Staropramen, Riegele.....). Funky decor, without being a clone modern pub. Dodgy art on the wall though. What is that Beatles Yellow Submarine painting all about??!

The Cottage Inn, Bristol

Very expensive, although kind of worth it. Has a unique atmosphere for Bristol - right in town, but when you step inside you feel like your in a boozer in the middle of the countryside. Lovely outside on the river in summer.

The Mardyke, Bristol

Cheapest pub in Bristol. 1.40 for a pint of Fosters.

The Spring Gardens, Hotwells

Sitting right on the noisy Hotwells Road, but has a great atmosphere, good beers, and the best pub food in Bristol. Trying to pitch itself as a gastropub these days, and frankly it has paid off. Now it is always full, bookings are usually needed, and Jamie Cullum likes to drop by for a quick bevvie and tap of the ivory keys!
