The Sunday roast is definitely worth a look in, i do love a bit of roast beef. Mmmmm!
With the food being home cooked the menu looks even more appealing.

With a lovely beer garden and designated under canopy smoking area, its good for everyone any time of the year.

Great pub for metal and rockers as night times there are just ace. If you aren't in to the rock / metalness then i would say to stick going there during the day time.. unless you just feel like letting your hair down and rocking out for a bit in the evos.
I think it is a great little put, a little warm but they have installed some high tech air systems recently *heh*
But a great little place to grab some food and drink. The food aint bad.. so go for it.. pop in

Awesome place, away from the troubles of Croydon. A great place to go if you want nice people, a decent pint and a garden. Ooooh yes.. a garden. ALWAYS good!
Summertime down there are pretty nice indeed!
Once of Croydon's nicest pubs, definitely worth a look if you don't mind a little (very short) walk out of the town centre.

The Metropolitan, Westbourne Park
Not a bad little pub, but i did go in on a Tuesday afternoon when it was pretty quiet. Very convenient with it being right next to the underground station.
I thought there was some quiz going on with the clipboards on the table, but they were the menus, i did get a bit confused until i looked at what was attached to the clipboard. Oops!
Friendly staff - I didnt drink much so cant comment on that right now, but i will have to pop back and leave a rating of the drinks another time

The Wheatsheaf, Virginia Water
I popped in here a week or so ago with some work friends. Had a really lovely prawn sandwich and a drinkies around a nice big table. Looks like a traditional old pub, really visually pleasing on the inside. Food Came out nice and quick, but the service was a tad slow at the lunchtime (but the food did make up for that)
Will be going there again as i really do like the look and feel of this pub, i bet on a weekend you get a nice atmosphere in there

Goose At The Station, Bracknell
did the prices stay the same? I used to go to the goose on the market in croydon, was great on a friday night. Is this the same? Is the food good?

I have just recently moved to Ascot and im not one to go to pubs but from the outside his place looks really nice. I think i will be going about and checking out what the pubs have to offer in the area one day so i will post again with details abou this pub one day in the near-ish future

Visually nice pub here, i love the look of this place. Great pub all round, just gets a lil hot when the place is packed. But other than that the food is ace, the staff are friendly and has a different atmosphere to what you would get in the majority of pubs in croydon. (which is a good thing) :)

The refurb was awesome, the new look of the place is great it really is. This pub is one of the nicer pubs in croydon, great atmosphere and gets a nice gathering of people in on a monday (and the rest of the week with the new entertainment lineups).
Have eaten there a few times and is very nice. Nothing bad to say about this pub at all. Friendly staff and what i have seen, nice customers.

Not too bad a place. cheap food and a good place to start the night. Fridays / saturday nights are usually heaving!

The bar is most excellent. The week is packed out with a good range of music.
Mondays being film night = great idea
Tuesdays = Cheap drinks and Hip hop and RnB
Wednesdays = Live night
Thursdays = Mixture of rock, metal punk etc
Friday = Indie, rnb, and loads of good stuff *great night*
Saturdays = Random.. but good stuff.
thursdays - saturday always seems totally packed out. Just get there before 9 and you dont gotta pay. So.. dont whinge when you gotta pay, i mean a couple quid for a good night. Its not alot really!
Well, has been a kinda *local* to me for a few years, good people, good laughs. :)

Indeed, after the new management took over the place has taken a turn for the better. Sundays are heaving. The roasts are fantastic.
Having a bus stop right outside makes the pub easily accessable from the areas of croydon and bromley.
Ace Place, really nice food (large portions) and the management are much better than the previous.
Its a shame it was known previously as a bit of a downer pub, but now. MUCH BETTER!
Having been to a few of the events, i got to say, they get a good crowd!
