The Craven Heifer Inn, Kelbrook

The Craven Heifer has achieved the difficult task of becoming an excellent gastropub without losing its local beer drinking fraternity. The food is very good indeed; the beer is excellent - lawys three different real ales on pump, very well kept.
Currently they are building more bedrooms to expand the hotel facilities.

The Fountaine Inn, Linton

Lovely pub. We had a beer brewed locally for the pub and some very good food. Our (well-behaved) dog was welcomed into the tiled bar area and much admired. We'll be back soon!

The Fox and Hounds, West Witton

Walking to West Witton, we had decided to go here rather than the other pub - described as "a restaurant with a bar". Big mistake. The beer I drank was a local Buttertubs beer - nothing wrong with it except that I didn't like it. It was Saturday lunchtime and someone asked for the football to be put on the TV; then someone else put the juke-box on. The food was very disappointing. My bacon and brie panini was poor, while my wife's carrot and corainder soup was positively unpleasant, including, as it did, unreconstituted powder. Next time we will go to the "restaurant".
