The Twelve Bells, Cirencester

I agree with all the recent postings on this pub. The landlords dry sense of humour is very amusing, although the PC brigade could conceivably take offense. All the staff are friendly, and the gargantuan proportions of food are very good value, and help soak up the well kept ales.

The Golden Cross, Cirencester

A good pint of Arkells is served here by friendly staff. The ploughmans lunch is extremely generous, and very good value

The Kemble Brewery Inn, Cheltenham

Very friendly staff, and an unusual selection of local ales. A lovely place to spend a warm evening when is cold outside.

The Jolly Brewmaster, Cheltenham

A good range of beers and a friendly atmosphere. The only food they do is on Sunday lunchtimes, but the roasts looked very good, and were served in huge portions, but unfortunately they had no food vacancies, so pre-booking is needed.

The Hop Pole Inn, Aylesbury

This is a fantastic pub. I highly recommend the four cheese pizza - it helps to line one's stomach to enable you to work through the range of beers, all of them on good form. On Saturday nights they have a singer performing rock classics.

Hobgoblin, Aylesbury

I visited this pub on a Saturday afternoon and there was a strong smell of disinfectant. However, the beer was good, and 1.50 for a pin of Arkells is pretty unbeatable.

The Farmer's Bar, Aylesbury

I agree with scissorkicks that this does not really feel like a pub, it has more of the feel of a hotel bar, however the Chiltern beers were all on good form and the food is of a high standard
