Huge improvement on when it was the aldrington. Staff friendly and run some theme nights which are good. The two bars offer something different from each other.

Good pub with nice atmosphere.
Good selection of books available for local charity as well.

Not a bad pub and def inatly not the most friendly of places.
This is multiplied by 10 when you turn up after in an Arsenal top having just been to the game where spurz lost. This shouldnt be too much of a problem except the landlord/barman is a spurz fan and got very grumpy!
Still think its a niceish little place but dont feel very welcome to go back...

Nice airy and clean pub with good mix of people. Staff can be a bit rude and dismissive though.

Top Top Pub!
Found this gem of a pub by accident about 5 years ago and fell in love with it straight away. John the landlord has lots of strange rules but they all go to making this pub so unique and the best in Colchester. The best bunch of characters you will find in Essex.
I moved away from Colchester in the summer and miss it like crazy.
If you are in the pub at anytime, pass my regards to Paul the busker who will be found propping up the bar most evenings...

The White Horse Inn, Hurstpierpoint
Really lovely Sunday lunch and really friendly staff and locals.
Changed from when we were last there as the dining area in more incorperated into the pub. Shame as it was nice as it was...
Worth a visit for the fair priced food and the gooner at the bar!
