The Tartan Tavern, Oban

Sign outside advertising 6 real ales... inside only 2. Neither of which was in great condition, but it wasn't unfriendly as the previous poster said, just a bit ordinary.

Markie Dans, Oban

3.05 for a pint of ale. !!!
But I found the atmosphere to be good on a Friday night, live music was of good quality and we got on with the locals on our first visit, will go back but might take a hip flask !

Lorne, Oban

Waaaay to pricey. A very average pint of Deuchars for 3.00 and 1.55 for a half of lime & soda.
Certainly not the only pub in Oban that overcharges, but its a drab place to go with it.

Dr Thirsty's Ale House, Glasgow

I spotted this pub on my way past the other month and decided to return. The name on the door sounds very good eh?
Inside its a tidy and clean pub, not busy that night, but be warned. Dr Thirsty's Ale House DOES NOT SELL ALE !!!!!
Bloody hell I thought. The Guibess was ok but that wasn't why I was there. Anyway, the lady behind the bar was very nice and its ok if you want a quiet pnt away from the crowds.
Shame about the name....

The Three Judges, Partick Cross

I'm giving the J3 Judges a trial run for my new local. The beer is the main thing for me and its ok here. As an English invader I am amazed they have any decent ales at all. (Not quite as good as back home, could be colder,) but this is a very good pub, nice staff who are happy to help and have a great relationship with their customers.
I have enjoyed all of my visits here and will be back again and again.

The Hole in The Wall, Southsea

Sorry to say I have moved away from my favourite pub now.
Auditions are well under way for a replacement here in Glasgow, but The Hole In The Wall is a very tough act to follow.
Cheers to you & yours John. Take care
Dave T.

The Hole in The Wall, Southsea

The Hole in the Wall remains top pub for miles around.
The rating system seems to be letting them down.
Probably one opf the other posters used a low rating without realising it? There are nobad comments toback it up.
Doh !

The RMA Tavern, Eastney

Even newer tennent, Kev, deserves a round of applause ( the clap he so richly deserves) for keeping the music live and the beer flowing ..... Actually the beer tends to be a bit less than wonderfull.....
But get in there and enjoy a great pub.

Wheelbarrow, Southsea

How bad a pub is this? I walk past it to get to my local. Most nights there are 6 people max in the bar, all huddled around the bar itself, backs to the door. (This often includes the Landlord & Landlady) - They have live music therer once in a while & you cant get served by the one bloke behind the bar (The Landlord + Landlady never help out, they dont seem to give a toss)
Beers crap, not worth a visit.

The Fifth Hants Volunteer Arms, Southsea

I always like going to the 5th Hants. Always a good place to start or finish a pub run. Only downside is the exhorbitant price of the beer. Gales (as we know) is rubbish most of the time, but the price, jeez. Anyhoo, the jukebox is cool and the staff are always good - well worth the time for a visit.

The Hole in The Wall, Southsea

I switched to this pub as my 'local' about eight months ago. It's just the job. Great beer and a very social place. I wish the music was more to my taste, but I can always plug into my mp3 player in between frequent trips to the bar. Can't reccomend it highly enough really. I was so rubbish at the quiz !!!!
