The Robert William Loosley, High Wycombe

Can anybody out there tell me how many floors this pub has and whether or not it is near a bus station or, indeed, a Sainsbury's ? Thank you.

The George Inn, Longbridge Deverill

The George Inn is about to undergo a 10 week refurb whilst staying OPEN throughout for business.

I'm sure that your barmaid is delighted that you've come on here to announce that she has great tits.
I would agree by suggesting that you're one of them !

The Barge Inn, Seend Cleeve

The Barge Inn was not particularly busy on Saturday when we arrived mid afternoon.
Our mission was to sample Wadworth's newly launched stout - Corvus - which we had previously sipped earlier in the day during a superb tour of the nearby brewery. The Barge is one of very few places dispensing it so far. Keenly priced, obviously, it has a delicious aftertaste of roasted coffee beans. A very acceptable alternative to y'Guiness or y'Beamish etc. etc. if , like me on a warm day you require something cold and quenching that is most definately NOT lager.
The place looks as though it is geared for busy family afternoons alongside the canal. Would have to see it in full swing to give a more accurate judgement and rating.

The Shelley Arms, Broadbridge Heath

Reckless, mkent, m1380 et al
You may find that 'blanket bombing' results in much less than the desired effect.

The Rowbarge, Guildford

I think that an old buddy, Damian Wilson, is playing this venue on April 26th (ish ?). A very talented bloke.
I will endeavour to get myself along there once I establish the exact date.

The Plough, Effingham

To Burpy Slerpy:
If you lose one sense, your other senses are enhanced.
That's why people with no sense of humour have an increased sense of self-importance.
Stick to what you do best - reviewing pubs badly.

The Bulls Head, Ewhurst

As an outsider, looking in, I do need to draw to your collective attentions the fact that the word GRAMMAR is spelt with an 'A' at the end and not an 'E'.
The irony of it . . .

I think that we've all had spectacular nights out like that !
Just one thing. What the hell is 'amngering' ?

Henry J Beans, Chelsea

Also COUSINHUB, in your contribution yesterday you refer to 'my girlfriend' whereas back on October 21st your 'review' includes a mention for 'my husband'.
Is there anything you need to tell us ?

The Peter Cushing, Whitstable

. . . and I'm surprised that The Ladhimelf has not yet reviewed it !

The Rose and Crown, Sandridge

Here, here Henners. Well said. Also, NO fireplace is worth dying for.

The Wotton Hatch, Wotton

I'm confident that I would not be alone in suggesting that the provision of WiFi in premises such as this is purely for people who are not 100% au fait with what a pub is for. A minor inconvenience perhaps on your visit but not a 'downside'.

Waxy's Little Sister, Piccadilly Circus

There is nothing awasome about a handlift !

4 Nov 2011 14:04

The Garibaldi, Knaphill

waggledance's review sums The Garibaldi up nicely.
I would like to add that they're very welcoming to my dog too, albeit outside which is fair enough. A bowl of water is always forthcoming without me having to ask . . . which is nice.

The Cricketers, Croydon

Do you suppose that that might be slerpy in the photo above - stood in the wi-fi hotspot of a doorway ?

The Pig and Whistle, Melksham

Currently offering GK IPA, Butcombe Best and 'Bang-on' Bombardier.
A delightful boozer in somewhat awkward surroundings. I think that I'm right in saying that food only seems to happen at the week-end - maybe even just Sunday lunchtimes but filled rolls are available at other times. Will return on my occasional journey through that particular neck of the woods.

The Star, Chalton

This is BITE not TACITE !

The Abbot, Redhill

Gareth,
One of the finest and most succinct reviews ever posted. Well done. I've been giggling for some 30 minutes now.

Bridge Barn, Woking

Re-visited this venue on Saturday after an abscence of a few years (6-8 years since I was last there). Bearing in mind the record breaking temperatures that we have just enjoyed at the beginning of October you would have thought that this well established outlet would be staffed accordingly and correctly wouldn't you ? It was shambolic.
Unbelievably I was back there yesterday (circumstances dictated so) and witnessed equally shambolic staffing levels in the rising temperature. Inefficient management gets my goat !
In fairness I eventually got to enjoy a few well kept pints of both Spitfire and Hobgoblin

Kings Head, Hethersett

Hello Dave,
So, as I understand it, you were en route to The United Arab Emirates, got lost, and stumbled across The Kings Head, Hethersett.
Remarkably bad (good ?) luck my friend !

The Black Swan, Martyr's Green

Jug of Pimms, pint of T.E.A., pint of lager, small coke.

26.00

They can Foxtrot Oscar.
PubMessenger has it 'bang-on'.
R.I.P. The Mucky Duck.

The Hare & Hounds, Devizes

This particular premises is very good at selling me the dark Mild from the local Wadworth brewery. It's an enigmatic brew - at least it is as far as I'm concerned - no sooner have I got home than I find myself yearing to return for more. This might one day prove to be my downfall ! I should be so lucky . . . lucky, lucky, lucky.
'Sacred blue', as they say in this part of the world. Hand me down my walking shoes, I'm returning to the pub.
