The Alehouse, Reading

..the smell of the place put me off drinking in there as soon as i stepped in..

The Red Lion, Wokingham

The Red Lion is a more restaurant orientated pub during the day, probably why you got very nice food, starky87. The place is a bit pokey and can get extremely crowded at times. Variety of bitters is quite limited as well.

The Royal, Silverdale

Nice pub with a little computer cafe bit put to one side, couple of pool tables, very spacious and an excellent choice of draughts. At a 3 minute walk from my old man's place it's a gem!

Also recommend the silverdale arms down the road as well.

The Victoria Arms, Wokingham

It's a great place to go for a quick one at lunch time. It isnt smack bang in middle of town which is another plus. Still havn't tried the real ale yet though..the young tom and the other. After an experience with speckled hen in the redan earlier this year its put me off

The Buzz Restaurant and Wine Bar, Wokingham

I didn't see any staro when i went in..

Only thing i saw was a guiness tap stuck in the middle of the bar.

The Redan, Wokingham

Haha shame. The new owners only just totally revamped the place late last summer. They place is going to the dogs thought, apparently. Hardly surprising when they make it 21 on entry. The Redan had characters, same friendly faces the way it used to be. Don't care what the hell happens to it now.

The Fez Club, Reading

A Corona with no lime? That's like a curry without the rice.

If the establishment has pride in it's array of drinks and service you shouldn't have to even ask for a lime.

The New Rose, Wokingham

@Quinno. Yeah the interior is alright, spacious yes, but comfortable...well I beg to differ. If you dont mind sitting on solid, cold, hard wooden chairs all evening because the leathers are taken..

Not to mention all the young and trendy bar staff who literally are only a pretty face because they cant pour a decent pint of guiness for shit.

Prices aren't exactly competetive either.

Got to disagree with the backstreat style boozer that quinno so kindly puts it. I liked this pub, good atmosphere and nice ale.

The Hope and Anchor, Wokingham

Got to agree with the majority here. Beer was either off or flat (mine were always the lesser of the flat pints when i went down with the a few mates on a friday night)Usually quite busy, however. I found myself sitting on the small table in the corner by the pool tables on night it was so packed.

The Lord Raglan, Wokingham

Have to agree with 'trapdoor' on this one. It's more of a restauranty/quiet evening meal/first date type place in the day time and in the evening is swarmed full of chavs that make it an uneasy atmosphere.

Molly's Millars, Wokingham

I have been coming here for a while now with a few mates. Excellent range of ales, lagers and alcopops (not that im that way inclined where alcopops are concerned). Cheap smithys and fosters which go down a treat on a heavy night. Only thing i'd criticise would be the noise. Can't be helped but gets tedious when you're trying to have a conversation! The request disco is really good too. Good night out, recommended.

The Redan, Wokingham

Proper off the hook pub, really friendly staff, friendly locals. Met my best mate brian down there few fridays ago. Beer is good quality, nice, warm and relaxing atmosphere, not too rowdy either which is a big plus. Only thing that i'd criticise is the building itself. The thermostat was rotten when iwent to adjust it in the winter and the bogs are often left in a less than appropriate way ie. toilet paper with sh*t staines on them across the floor. Needs sorting.

The Crispin, Wokingham

Definately a locals pub, friendly staff and a general nice atmosphere. Lacks young people to make it a good night out, full of old duffers but not bad non the less.
