The Cittie of Yorke, Holborn

One of the finest pubs in London. As with most Sam Smith's pub it's the beer that makes the place. I enjoy nothing better than having a cool alphine lager and a packet of bacon fries. The only downside to this place is the ghost of Len Fairclough (off Coronation st) that haunts the Gent's toilets.

The Lamb Tavern, Leadenhall Market

A great pub in a great location. It's just a shame that it doesn't serve decent beer (are there any Sam Smith's pubs in the square mile?) and doesn't allow dogs in the saloon bar. It's gets a bit nippy outside!

Fitzroy Tavern, Fitzrovia

You know, I think that a lot of people have had their expectations of pubs coloured by those trendy bars such as Albarone and Yates Wine Lodge. This is what drinking should be about; good locally sourced and produced authentic beers; hearty food; cheery staff; and comfortable surroundings. This place serves some of the finest Weiss beers this side of Leek. A personal favourite.
PS try the scampi chips, they're divine!
