The New Inn, Send

A wonderful location right by the canal. A good choice of real ale which tasted great. The food very good and not too expensive. There was good choice ranging from snacks to large meals. My only criticism was the wait for the food to be delivered. It was busy but it would have been preferable if they had warned us when ordering. In the overall scheme of thinks it did not detract too much from a great visit a we were not in a hurry.

The Seven Stars, Ripley

The Sadlers Arms must have served the worst pint of beer I have tasted for years and the staff were far from happy when I complained. Eventually they changed it giving me a different brand(fullers) which was just as bad. we gave up did not finish our drink and left. Appalling.

The Victoria Inn, Richmond

This pub is well worth a visit because of its size or lack of it. it must be the smallest pub for miles around. It was different, cosy, friendly with good service. A nice experience.

The Prince's Head, Richmond

A pleasant enough pub serving real ale and reasonable value food. Not the most comfortable of seating but OK. all round we would describe the Princess Head as distinctly average on all counts.

The Star, Malden Rushett

We had a number of reservations about this pub mainly connected was with the food, We found the menu somewhat limited, the cost was inflated and high, the quality poor and finally to add insult to injury we had to wait ages from ordering to receiving our food.Very poor value

The Shy Horse, Chessington

We found this pub to be very pleasant, Good beer at very reasonable prices. The service was excellent. A good menu and we thought the food was well above average and not overpriced. Overall it was friendly with a nice atmosphere.

The Fairmile, Cobham

On the face of it the Fairmile seems like a good value pub for eating. It does get very busy and seems to attract a lot of families with young children which makes it very noisy. we had to wait 50 minutes for our food which was good value but we were staving by the time it arrived. It was very rowdy and it served below average beer.

The Bear, Esher

A pub in an an upmarket area with priced to match. Extremely expensive food for very average quality. The beer is OK.We would advise you avoid on days when horse racing is taking place at nearby Sandown Park.Yo need deep pockets to eat here.

The White Cross, Richmond

The White Cross in my opinion is the best pub in Richmond. A traditional hostelry serving good quality Youngs beer and it has a nice atmosphere. it does not seem to attract the larger lout brigade found in some pubs in the area. Good food reasonably priced. Because of its riverside location it can get uncomfortably crowded on a warm summers evening.

The Queens Head, Byfleet

When this pub we did not feel comfortable with a lots of rowdy young drunks. The beer was good but the atmosphere was threatening. we were pleased to leave as soon as we had finished our drinks.

The Anchor, Wisley

The anchor is in a prime location right by the canal and can get very busy especially on warm days and evenings.. The service is efficient and the beer is good. We thought the food was average with a limited menu and about 20% overpriced. good for a drink but not recommended for food unless you have cash to throw away to pay their inflated prices.

The Surrey, St Johns

The Surrey in my opinion is the pits. The beer is poorly maintained. the food menu seems extensive but when ordering it was our fifth choice before what we asked for was available. children were running around screaming and the staff did not try and intervene. Truly terrible.

The Plough, Byfleet

The Plough is a really smashing pub. it serves a great range of guest cask ales and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Often they will offer you a small taster before buying. Also it is a mobile free zone and has no music or television. the only minor criticism is the hard wooden benches if you go to the left when entering the pub. The other seating is very comfortable. Strongly recommended.

The Waggon and Horses, Surbiton

The Waggon and Horses is a true true traditional pub serving well kept Youngs beer. Comfortable seating, a good atmosphere and Thai food is available.

The New Inn, Ham

The New Inn is a really nice pub that thankfully does not play loud music and have sky sports. so you can hold a conversation without the need to shout. The staff are quick, friendly and efficient. there is a choice of real ales and a food is available throughout the day until 21.30 in the evening. On the negative side the cost of food is exorbitant in my opinion 25% higher than you would expect to pay for a similar meal in other local pubs. Also the beer is about 10% higher. To summarised Great pub but expensive.

The Cardinal, Kingston Upon Thames

The best point about the Cardinal is the food, basic but good value. It is totally devoid of atmosphere and the beer is poorly maintained.. We had to send our first pint back and the complaint was handled poorly by the staff member. he did not believe us and was initially reluctant to replace them. I think it had got to the bottom of the barrel.

The Willoughby Arms, Kingston Upon Thames

A great pub if you enjoy a good selection well kept real ale. A great selection of beers at reasonable prices and a nice atmosphere. If you have not been there it is well worth a visit if you are a beer drinker.

The Park Tavern, Kingston Upon Thames

We have given up drinking at the Park Tavern and everything abbout it has gone rapidly downhill. The variety of cask ales on a rotating bases has diminished considerably. The price of beer has escalated out of all proportion over 3.50 for a pint, a lot more expensive than other local hostelries. It was never a comfortable pub but the seating in deplorable. Hard wooden benches and what chairs they have are past there sell by date. We know of several other former customers who have given up coming here. It is a shame as for years it was always a pleasant drinking pub. It needs a revamp and a price reduction to entice customers back. Awful.
