Quinn's, Camden

Descent enough pub if you're after a late night beer (they're open until at least 2am most nights) but I wouldn't go out of my way to visit. if somewhere else was open.

The German and Belgian beer selection really is the only selling point. It could do with a complete make-over starting with the toilets! The smell from the mens often wafts upstairs putting my off my drink. The girls aren't much better and I usually hold my breath when I have to go in. Last time I visited the whole place smelt like raw fish.

Highly reccomended for a post gig drink but I wouldn't make a habit of going there.

The Black Heart, Camden

Used to be a great pup for catching the Rugby in. Now taken over and been turned into ANOTHER trendy wannabe wine bar called The Black Heart. Had a walk past on a friday night and it looked virtually empty.

Why did they have to change it??

The George IV, Kentish Town

My all time favourite little pub.
Perfect on Sunday afternoons watching the football (be sure to get there early as it can get pretty busy)

I often pop in during the week for a quiet drink with my friends. Staff are always friendly, and being a regular, have already started pouring my drink when I walk in the door.

There's always somewhere to sit and our usual table is generally always free. Perfect if you want to be out on a friday or satuday, but only want a quiet drink.

The only fault is the toilets which could do with a little make-over and I've heard scary things about the state of the mens!

The Quays, Holloway

The Quays used to be great for watching the football. Sadly a bad experience my friends and I had a couple of weekends ago have ruined my view of The Quays. We were charged 5 on entry in return for food or drinks coupons (presumably to avoid overcrowding on what would have been a fairly big match day) As expected on a busy day, there were no seats inside, so we stood for the duration of the game and decided to use our vouchers when it had finished to get some food. What they didn't explain when taking our 5's on the door was that these vouchers were only valid until 5pm (it was 5:30 when we eventually got seated and ordered our food) the staff were very rude and refused to give us refunds and wouldn't even apologise for not making it clear the vouchers were only valid until 5pm.

On top of that a friend of mine waited 20 minutes at the bar before getting served. The staff were absolutely hopeless and just kept ignoring him. The more he tried to get their attention, the more they ignored.

I certianly will not be going back.

The Garden Gate, Hampstead Heath

Generally I'd give this pub a great rating. It becomes my regular over the winter months for it's cosy warm atmosphere.
The service can take a while during busy times so it's always best to wait till the bar is looking fairly empty, or you'll be in for a wait.

Clientel can be a bit rowdy and I'd guess it isn't just alcohol they've been consuming that evening.

Head there for a quiet midweek drink to really enjoy it. I wouldn't reccomend visiting on a friday or saturday night.
