Coach and Horses Inn, Chiselhampton

Wonderful location, very peaceful. Nice food, good beer and friendly staff. Great place to stay too and only about 7 miles from central Oxford. Very popular even mid-week.

The Plough, Ivy Hatch

Everything of the highest standard. Really stylish and comfortable as well. Don't hesitate to visit. Very busy at weekend lunchtimes apparently.

The Cock Inn, Halstead

Nice building in a great location and decent beer but something just doesn't work (apathetic staff perhaps). I've been in here on and off for 30 years through loads of changes of management and it's never really worked for some reason. Could be really great but isn't.

The Leathern Bottle, Lewknor

In addition to all that....best fish and chips I've ever had in a pub.

The Woodman, Ide Hill

The really good thing about this pub is how easy it is to use. There's loads of room so you can always get in, even on a Saturday night. Car park is massive too. Friendly staff and swift service. Nice atmosphere and clientele. The beer, wine and food are all pretty good and reasonably priced. Whilst I would not call this a foodie destination, it's always a nice experience to eat here. The South African specials are particularly good if you like that sort of thing (which I do). Music on Saturday night adds to the pleasure. So, whilst other places may score higher on individual things, this place ticks all boxes very well. Brilliant location too - feels like the back of beyond but very near M25, Sevonoaks etc.

The Oak Tree, Sevenoaks

This pub has changed hands again since the last reviews and is now owned by the Faucet group who also have The Grasshopper in Moorhouse. It's now a really great place to go. The staff couldn't be more obliging. They have a positively and pleasantly daunting range of beers including some very exotic craft beers plus a great choice on draught. There's also a wide range of wines, gins, vodkas etc. Nice food although quality can perhaps be a little variable but it's always tasty and good value. It's a big, well laid out pub so you can always get a table. The Blligh's meadow car park (£1 in the evening) is right next door.
