The Emperor, Aylesbury

Stylish, if somewhat sanitary, bar. Often comfortably quiet and ideal for serious-conversation-people. Nice range of Whiskeys!

Bar Oz, Oxford

Good pub for football/rugby fans. Some Aussie memorabilia on the walls. Good Guinness. Kinda short on character, though.

The Farmer's Bar, Aylesbury

Methinks someone works for the NT.. heh heh.
Comfortable and historically appointed quiet coaching house style pub. Some of the real ales kept outside which proves awkward for the staff (running back and forth) Ideal spot for taking a breather from shopping / work. Stays relatively peaceful in the evenings, too. Yearly beer festival worth keeping an eye on!

The Hogshead, Aylesbury

Comfortable daytime and early evening pub. Ideal for a relaxing lunchtime pint whilst reading a paper/magazine or for a swift drink before going to the (next door but one) cinema. Compare it to the Yates's next door and it doesn't look so bad. Beer is ok with occasional ale "festivals".

Brewsters, Aylesbury

Totally agree with Pubboy. Good lunchtime pub with a clean and efficient 'pub chain' feel to it. Not my thing but not the worst chain pub i've been in.

Belle Vue, High Wycombe

And don't forget the spacious and comfortably private garden out back. Good pub - just wish I lived closer.

The Elsinore, Whitby

This pub is extremely popular during the two annual Goth weekends in Whitby. It's not surprising either, as the owners and staff deck the halls with skulls and other fun stuff and are very welcoming to the Goths.
Beer is good, I recommend the red ale ;-) and the people are friendly. Never seen food, though.

Duke of York, Whitby

Excellent accommodation! Friendly staff and the best harbour views in Whitby. Lots of interesting / rare beverages behind the bar if you look carefully.

The Tap and Spile, Whitby

Folk singing night is on Sundays, good beers.

The Kings Arms, Tring

Unique pub - especially the decor ;-)
Always has 5 very well kept real ales on tap and many good draught fizzies and wines. The food is good, try the hot sausage & gravy sandwich if you don't believe me!
