Left pub rapidly after a rude "welcome" from highly stressed and condescending landlord.
Interior and exterior of pub looked grim.
Not dog friendly

Fish & chips looked good but did not try as pub was totally unfriendly to dogs.
Staff had very poor local knowledge

Remains my favourite Lewes pub although (admittedly) it has declined over the years due to interference from Greene King and (to a lesser extent) the current Fullers.
Conversation good.
Locals friendly.
Beer expensive though.
Original and refreshingly different events continue (organised by many loyal locals)
