The Greyhound, Brentwood

This is another restaurant posing as a pub with expensive drinks and very poor service at the bar. The food is hit and miss and the decor looks like your grannies cottage, which is ok if you like that sort of thing.

The Artichoke, Shenfield Common

This is not a pub, its a carvery and a bad one to boot!

The White Horse, Brentwood

A great pub and one of the only ones to offer traditional ciders, unlike the many pubs in the Brentwood area with the usual crap in a glass with ice. Very friendly atmosphere with good service, its a pity I cannot visit as much as I would like to.

The Harp, Covent Garden

The previous reviews are spot on. This is a great pub with excellent staff and a supbern range of beers including Cider. Love the place.

Lowlander, Covent Garden

This really is a tourist rip-off place to be avoided at all times. Getting served is a task and the food is of the lowest standard possible. I would not recommend this place to my mother-in-law!

The Builders Arms, Kensington

The Builders is a great pub with friendly staff and a good selection of beers and wine but DO NOT EAT here as the food is awful and well overpriced for what you get.

The Globe, Covent Garden

A good pub with pleasant atmosphere with the added bonus of Addlestones cider on tap but be warned......do not have the food as the standard is below par and very, very badly cooked and presented.

The Cove, Covent Garden

Considering its prime location and the amount of tourists who frequent it this is not a bad pub with very friendly staff and good pasties. OK, the beer is nothing special but still a good atmosphere and view over the Piazza.

The Porterhouse, Covent Garden

A highly overrated pub regardless of the huge variety of beers and lager on offer. Probably the most appalling pub I have ever had the misfortune of eating in as the food was obviously cooked by a 5-year old kid.......you have been warned!

The White Swan, Covent Garden

Look at the review by kiwiphil as he is right. Far better pubs in the area if you are prepared to look around.

The Dog and Duck, Soho

Love the place.......especially as they are one of the only pubs in Central London to serve Addlestons cider!

Never had to wait more than a couple of minutes to be served no matter how busy the place has been.

Lowlander, Covent Garden

Great during the day but don't go there in the evening if you want to be served within 15 minutes of attracting a waiters attention.

Henry's Cafe Bar, Covent Garden

Have been there many times with family during the day and everyone loved the place.

The Cross Keys, Covent Garden

Good boozer and well run with attentive bar staff.

The Builders Arms, Kensington

Visited this pub for the 1st time last week and have to say it has a nice feel to it with a good selection of beers and wines although the food was just about passable. Good atmosphere and nice bar staff although inexperienced......definately going back and would recommend.
