The Lord Raglan, St Pauls

Not bad, good location for us city bhoys. Nice place to just leave the black Amex card behind the bar and get wasted.

Bosh!

The Holly Tree, Englefield Green

Not a bad place at all - beer is decent enough, rarely have a bad pint and on the occasion where it has been bad, the staff have always been quick to sort it out. The people running the place are very friendly and welcoming.

The Fox and Hounds Restaurant & Bar, Englefield Green

Seems to be more food orientated than anything else. Not bad food though, good location right next to the Great Park.

The Sun Inn, Englefield Green

Expensive. A pub trying to carve out a living purely on it's location. Sad as it could be great.

Iguana, Egham

I don't agree that this was a great location, it's right on the M25 roundabout! It was a terrible place, I wouldn't even call it a pub. Thank fook it's gone. Awful.

The Happy Man, Englefield Green

The best pub in the village, in my honest opinion. There is 3 guest ales and Summer Lightning on constantly. The people who run the pub are extremely knowledgeable and really know how to keep beer. The food is also very good and extremely well priced, also look out for when the Thai specials are on as they can be sensational. All in all a very well run pub with friendly staff and decent customers, everything a pub should be. Great mix of students and locals.

The Barley Mow, Englefield Green

Has the potential to be the best pub in the village, sadly it is arguably the worst. The beer is average but the staff (mainly made up of students) are totally disinterested in the customers and I know several people other than myself who have waited to be served whilst the barmaids chatted idly amongst themselves. The interior is nondescript, it is more of a restaurant than a pub, but a restaurant that serves decidedly average food. A real waste as with it's location, it could be superb.

If you want decent beer, decent food and attentive staff (again, mainly students) then go to the Happy Man.

The Antelope, Tooting

Anyone calling this place a 'boozer' needs their head to be tested by a neurologist. It's a crap, identikit bar serving boring, crap beer. Jack Beards was expensive and wasn't a great pint but it had a bit of character. When these blow-in twerps begin to breed, they'll naff off back to Sussex/Gloucester/Surrey as they'll decide that Tooting is too 'edgy' to raise children in and then maybe, just maybe, we will get our pubs back and these dives will shut down.
