The Scarlet Pimpernel, Haverhill
previous review from neill in 2004 was when the scarlet pimpernel was a hungry horse pub, since then the place has suffered a deep decline.
it is absolutely filthy, not sure about any food that might be on offer, would'nt chance it !!

HAVE ONLY VISITED THE WHITE HART ONCE, THAT WAS ENOUGH ! ATMOSPHERE WAS NON EXISTANT, BEER WAS FLAT AND BARSTAFF WERE TOO BUSY PLAYING WITH THEIR MOBILE PHONES TO ATTEND TO CUSTOMERS. NEEDLESS TO SAY, I WILL NOT BE RETURNING.

I HAVE VISITED THE ROYAL EXCHANGE ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS AND HAVE ALWAYS FOUND IT TO BE VERY CLEAN AND FRIENDLY.THE LANDLORD IS ALWAYS AVAILABLE AND VERY JOVIAL, SO COMBINED WITH THE VERY EFFICIENT AND HELPFUL BARSTAFF, THE ROYAL EXCHANGE IS DEFINATELY ONE OF THE BETTER PUBS IN HAVERHILL.
10/10 FOR THE IPA & ABBOT

The Fox and Hounds, Steeple Bumpstead
nice friendly little place, also very cozy in winter with the open fire.
have eaten there e few times and food was very good, they also have a takeaway service, which is handy.
