The Chequers Inn, Fingest

Popped in for a drink after a long day at work. I'd never visited before and really liked the place. Friendly bar manager and lovely big garden which we sat out in. Didn't get a chance to stay for food but would definitely consider returning to try their menu in the near future

The Frog, Skirmett

Visited for a lunch on a Saturday with a Girlfriend. It was nice to see the pub so busy, there was a great atmosphere in their but unfortunately I do not think the staff could cope with the number of customers, they all came across very stressed! We waited a long time for food, although it was really nice when it arrived and I thought it was good value for money. I ordered the fish board. We sat for 20 minutes with empty glasses and were not offered another drink so had to get up and order at the bar which isn't ideal half way through your meal. It looked like they have a nice garden but unfortunately it was pouring when we visited!

The Rainbow, Middle Assendon

The Landlord and Landlady are a lovely couple. I have visited this pub many times whilst growing up locally. There is a very friendly, relaxed atmosphere in this pub. The food is quite basic compared to surrounding pubs but it is not expensive and goes down well after a long walk.

The Five Horseshoes, Maidensgrove

The location of this pub is fantastic but I'm sorry to say that the food and owners let it down. The landlord was very unfriendly and made my friends and I feel very unwelcome. We visited on a busy Sunday but they clearly couldn't cope with the volume of guests. Our food took 55 minutes to arrive and was cold when it finally did. We all had roasts, the meat was very, very fatty and the serving of vegetables was minimal, it was worth no where close to the 15.50 they were charging! We all left very disappointed and will not be returning whilst the current Landlord is running it, it is a great shame as I used to visit this pub lots with my parents as a child.

The Crown, Pishill

It is very rare in this day and age to find a traditional English Country pub which is exactly what The Crown is. The pubs interior is excellent and it is spotlessly clean. There is a great choice of drinks and they regularly change their guest ales (which are superbly kept!). The food offers excellent value for money and is always delicious. The last time I visited was a busy Sunday lunch, I ordered the roast which was delicious and my girlfriends were equally delighted with their choices too. The staff are all super efficient and polite. The Landlord Lucas and the Manager Andy are always very welcoming and really do look after you throughout your visit. If you have read through my whole review then you will probably see that I cannot fault The Crown in anyway! I really do recommend you visit :-) My girlfriends and I cannot wait to visit again soon
