The Oliver Conquest, Whitechapel

Not been to this pub in ages and very pleasantly surprised by it. A well kept Timothy Taylor's Landlord on tap and probably the best selection of gins for miles around.

Friendly staff and a pleasant laid back atmosphere. A pub that stands out from the local completion - well worth a visit.

The Five Bells Inn, Whitchurch Canonicorum

Very much a local's pub as well off the beaten track.

For those brave enough to risk an english summer there's camping in a field behind the pub with basic shower and toilet facilities.

Well kept Palmers beers on tap - Copper, Best and Dorset Gold- plus a cider and a small but well cooked menu available.

Well worth a visit.

Trafalgar Freehouse, South Wimbledon

Great local pub with well served variety of beers. A proper local!

The pub is small so can get busy, especially at poplar times and if the jazz band or similar are playing.

If you don't like the squeeze, try another pub, there's enough others within a short walk though sadly not as many as there used to be.

Old White Swan, Newbold Verdon

Good Everards beers. OK food for a pub though the restaurant felt more like a cafe.
Worth visiting for the beer, not so sure about travelling too far for the food.

The Windmill Inn, Newbold Verdon

Country pub serving Greene King beers, unfortunately not my favourite of beers although the Ruddles County was OK.
Selection of food available at what looked like reasonable prices, we didn't eat though as headed off to find other beer.

The Anglers Rest, Bamford

We spent two evenings here, great traditional pub with welcoming landlord and team.
Food was excellent, not a huge selection but all 4 dishes we tried were well prepared and the chef cooked steaks as we asked for, something many chefs seem unable to do. Good selection of beers and malts.
Billiard table and dart board also available, music playing in background was varied and not too loud.
Well worth a visit.

The Plough Inn, Lower Arncott

Unfortunately this pub is now boarded up and looks like closed for good.
Shame.

The Plough Inn, Lower Arncott

New management and the pub looks like attracting a different market.

Now has music playing, soft rock type, but was not intrusive, 2 well kept real ales and the 2 pints of Hobgoblin I had yesterday were excellent. Not tried the food but a reasonably varied menu.

Good seating area with well kept grounds. Worth a visit and hope the new team is sucessful.

The The Rail View, South Croydon

Friendly popular local a with good selection of real ales from a selection of brewers and not just Green King IPA...

Has a decked terrace and a garden if it's too busy inside which i y has been on a couple of occasions.

Worth a visit.

Moon Under Water, Norbury

This is an average Wetherspoons pub, usually has a good selection of real ales plus the usual largers if you're that way inclined.

The staff are friendly and service good and on the one occasion of beer not being as good as expected it was replaced without question. Usual W'spoons menu selection served.

Facilities are looking a little tired and can do with some tlc.

The Plough Inn, Lower Arncott

Friendly staff with standard bar food at a reasonable price. Usually has one real ale on on, usualy selection for the larger boys..

The Waterfront, Streatham

Good food (especially the pizzas) although the beer is limited to bottled or larger on tap.

There are cheaper pubs locally but at least you can usually get a seat and not have to fight to get to the bar.
