The Prince Albert, Guildford

First visit in a few years and could only see one ale on. Basically still an old locals pub so tradition does still exist. On the down side you'll know the punters are going to be rude to New customers. Being called names was probably to be expected, stupid to take the chance of going in here!

The Stoke, Guildford

Definitely a dreadful pub, staff are rude and unpleasant and they will avoid serving you food unless you're a local. They'll take your money though. It even takes them 5-10 minutes to pour a pint. What ashame.

The Kings Head, Guildford

In general one of the best pubs in the town, but it could be improved, some of the seating is a bit all over the place and messy.

The ale range is good and wide, yet expensive and a bit over the top.

Much too packed on a Saturday afternoon, but decent on a week day and the staff have always been friendly which is one of the main things in a good pub.

All Bar One, Guildford

Tedious and expensive, I would not go here again unless Im desperate over £4 for most lager and no real ale.

The Live and Let Live, Guildford

I assume it is still closed.

13 Apr 2013 18:02

Scrumptious, Guildford

Still boarded up. Another pub with no sign of life.

13 Apr 2013 18:00

Old Orleans, Guildford

And still closed and boarded up for what 2 years now? They need to either demolish it or do something else with it!

13 Apr 2013 17:59

Rodboro Buildings, Guildford

Enjoyed a fine fish and chips here and the beer I had was spot on, excellent value and if you can put up with it occasionally being crowded it is worth going regularly.

13 Apr 2013 17:58

Flares, Guildford

Never looks open when i walk past, assume it only opens at some point in the evenings?

13 Apr 2013 17:57

Bar Med, Guildford

Indeed Piss Flap, it was a disgusting place and quite rightly closed down, no sign of it coming back but no sign of anything taking over - well tescos is down the road anyway so we dont need another tescos I guess.

The Bricklayers Arms, Shamley Green

Came here as an alternative to the one up the road. On a visit one notices the reasonable sized car park, then there is the birds in the bird cage. They don't look cared for, and the beer garden does look somewhat run down. Inside the pub is good with decent real ale and some decent events on the board listed. A reasonable menu awaits any diners, and there is a pool table and darts board for those interested.

The Kings Head, Guildford

Thanks for making me log on every time I join you stupid beer website!

Anyway the Kings Head was a pretty good experience on a Thursday evening with friendly service and the ESB beer was in good condition. These days this pub has candles on every table, it makes for a strange atmosphere, but fairly chilled out nontheless. Big TV screens show the football when it is on otherwise it is typical background music.

1 Nov 2012 20:04

The King William IV, Mickleham

Yes the new landlord has gone a great job and I must say everything about the pub is absolutely brilliant. Customers please visit at once!

30 Sep 2012 19:10

The Devil's Punchbowl Hotel, Hindhead

Ringwood beer and Hobgoblin beer. Good pub in good location.

30 Sep 2012 13:59

Boot and Shoe Inn, Greystoke

Pub just on the C2C cycle route. Well situated in a plesant village. Nice pub with plenty of interesting features, including pictures of famous musical figures inside. A decent black sheep beer available. The food was decent, the vegetable lasagne tasted ok.

28 Sep 2012 19:37

Moorings Hotel, Banavie

Decent hotel/restaurant with a reasonable Belhaven Best beer available. Decent food such as Fish and Chips and Vegetable Curry.

28 Sep 2012 19:35

Rodboro Buildings, Guildford

Was just testing to see if my stupid post got removed!!

My real opinion is this a good place to go for beer and and food, excellent value!!

28 Sep 2012 15:01

The Star Inn, Guildford

Time to change my mind - a disappointing visit on a September midweek afternoon, pretty immature student staff were pretty annoying. The music was annoying as well!! The tables were dirty and the wallpaper is coming off all over the place. The beer was the only good point, it is a music venue still I believe so maybe it does not have to bother being smart!!

25 Sep 2012 18:23

The Guildford Tup, Guildford

Can this website stop logging me out everytime I leave as it's quite annoying =)

Anyway, on another note visited this pub and it was enjoyable, only ale on was Surrey Hills but that tastes good and the decent beer garden was a nice enough place to be on a sunny afternoon. As others have mentioned this is mainly a Rugby themed pub but welcome to anybody.

13 Sep 2012 18:19

The Frankland Arms, Washington

Pretty good pub just off the South Downs. Worth a trip here.

9 Sep 2012 21:04

The Seahorse, Shalford

Pretty confusing ordering food here, but the food is of good quality on the bright side.

8 Sep 2012 19:45

The Red Lion, Godalming

Looked empty, guess they are not doing well compared to the Star.

8 Sep 2012 19:44

The Star, Godalming

Full of strange characters and the place was pretty untidy, especially in the garden. Red Ale was good at least.

8 Sep 2012 19:44

Ye Olde Ship Inn, Guildford

Closed between 3-5 pm in the week so ruined any visit to the pub.... im not sure if thats the same @ weekends.

7 Sep 2012 19:17

11 Aug 2012 23:14

Archee's Bar and Restaurant, Woking

11 Aug 2012 23:14

The Hurtwood Inn, Peaslake

Pub which is very popular with cyclists.

Around 4 real ales on, when asking for a coke you may get the 200ml bottle so be careful.

The food is reasonable portions and is decent value for money.

10 Aug 2012 17:53

The King William IV, Mickleham

Bradley Wiggins was seen here downing many pints of Fosters recently.

7 Aug 2012 21:48

Great Bar - Stays open late at Fridays and Weekends.

7 Jul 2012 16:31

The Prince of Wales, Shere

Looks remarkably like William Bray from outside - but this must be hidden away because i've never seen it despite being in the area a good few times!

5 Jul 2012 21:05

The White Horse, Shere

Good old pub which I 'think' sells London Pride - hope i'm not wrong!

5 Jul 2012 21:03

The William Bray , Shere Guildford Surrey

Good pub which sells Surrey Hills

5 Jul 2012 18:48

The Swan Hotel, Alresford

Eating sort of pub, wide selection of food but limited selection of ale.

1 Jul 2012 22:14

Slug and Lettuce, Guildford

I thought this was alright despite modern bar style atmosphere. only 1 ale available in Bombardier.

30 Jun 2012 17:17

The Horse and Groom, Merrow

3 Good ales here and some pretty good pizzas even though it can take a while 2 arrive. Very eating orienatated and modern decor.

30 Jun 2012 17:14

The Three Pigeons, Guildford

Dodgy beer here such as Cobra lager. Otherwise the food and atmosphere is very good, but better to stick to ales than dodgy lagers.

30 Jun 2012 17:13

The Kings Head, Guildford

An above acceptable pub but slightly less than as good as before the GASTRO revolution.

10 Jun 2012 20:41

The Kings Head, Guildford

An above acceptable pub which caters for the real ale types as well as the younger generation who like to stay up late.

10 Jun 2012 20:39

Pews, Guildford

A somewhat below average wine bar which really caters for the younger types more than any of those older real ale drinkers.

10 Jun 2012 20:38

The Royal Oak, Guildford

An acceptable locals pub which is remarkably average. Worth a trip for an average drink if nothing else.

10 Jun 2012 20:37

The Three Pigeons, Guildford

An above acceptable pub which is aimed more at the eating market than drinking types but this does not stop a solid selection of real ale.

10 Jun 2012 20:37

The Britannia, Guildford

Reasonably acceptable pub to have a drink although pub appears more aimed at the eating out types.

10 Jun 2012 20:35

The Star Inn, Guildford

I think this is a reasonable pub to have a drink or meal in.

10 Jun 2012 20:34

Rodboro Buildings, Guildford

Could and should be better. Food and service is good, but they dont clean up the tables.

10 Jun 2012 20:33

The Hautboy Inn, Ockham

Currently closed and boarded up with the future being uncertain.

14 May 2012 19:49

The Black Swan, Martyr's Green

Up and down, service has been known to be slow. The food is generally acceptable at a heavy price, the beer however is very good.

14 May 2012 19:47

Cafe Aromas, Cobham

A cafe run by a guy called Clive. Go there for the coffee not for beer though.

14 May 2012 19:45

14 May 2012 19:43

14 May 2012 19:39

The Live and Let Live, Guildford

Pub has now been closed. Did not stop me dreaming about it last night however.

14 May 2012 19:38

The George Abbot, Guildford

Situated by a car park and a busy road so 0 points for location. However the inside of the pub is much nicer and the pub itself has a more spacious and warm feel to it than the White House over the road. The beer itself is mainly Greene King ales. The London Glory ale was on recently and tasted good.

14 May 2012 19:30

The White House, Guildford

A fairly typical Fullers pub with a fairly typicaly range of Fullers drinks available. The stand out choice being the Fullers Honey Dew. An acceptable pub, which has less space than you would imagine from the outside of the building. Somehow the many pillars make the pub feel cramped, despite that it is a decent place to have a drink by the River.

14 May 2012 19:29

The Five and Lime, Guildford

A bar rather than a pub which specialises in selling your fairly typical range if lager such as Becks Vier, Kronenbourg and Red Stripe. No ale, but they do sell Guinness so no surprise there. One for the younger crowd.
