The Albion, Hampton Court

Words defy me to describe how appalling this pub has become. As a long term regular, it now takes on average 10 minutes to get served. The whole place still stinks, and I wouldn't bury my worst enemy in the toilets.

The bar staff are more concerned with serving their mates than serving other punters, and many of them can't string two words together; and the "landlady" genuinely couldn't get the steam off piss. (Having drunk there twice a week for 7 years, she recently asked if I was a regular...) She really ought to be put out to graze now...

The beer and food over the road in the Prince of Wales are far, far better, but dearer, and the clientele are a cut above.

There was talk of a wholesale renovation of the Albion, but the brewery recently withdrew funfing to let the place fester for a few more years.

If you desperately need drink beer which is 50p/pint cheaper, then maybe the Albion is for you. For all others, I would steer well clear.

Once great, then nose dived when the previous Landlady, Bev, left. Recent signs of improvements sadly appear to have been short lived. This is my local, and in the last couple of weeks alone, food has been unavailable due to lack of kitchen staff, the International Football wasn't being shown (apparrently because their Sky Licence had expired!!), and the state of the Ladies' toilets (so my other half says) has deteriorated to the point of being disgusting.

In 'The City', it's known as a 'Dead Cat Bounce'... Show signs of recovery, then continues to get worse...

A crying shame. What was by far the best pub in the area during the 'Bev era' has taken an awful turn for the worse. Jodie, the new landlady, is pleasant enough, but she's never about. Instead, she leaves an inept and rude staff to provide the awful service. Harry was a shining light, but now he's gone, the only thing worth turning up for is Tuesday's excellent quiz, but the new bar staff have even taken the edge off that.
Once a regular, I'm now frequenting The Bell round the corner until the brewery get wise to the shambles this pub has become. Come back Bev, all is forgiven!!
