Moon On The Hill, Harrow

The only pub in Harrow town centre worth mentioning.

Despite some of the condescending comments below, in my experience the service has always been of a very good standard. Beer is also kept very well - never had a bad pint in many years visiting here.

Only (minor) quibble is some customers stand in front of the bar obscuring what beer is available.

Otherwise a reasonable pub in a real ale desert and price of ale is dirt cheap for London.

The Centurion, Newcastle

I can only echo the sentiments of the previous poster.

The management have a few questions to answer:

I was in the pub on Saturday 5 March - the real ale available was reduced to Theakstons Mild before 12:45. Nobody bothered orinterested to even explain why the barrels were not being replaced to meet obvious demand

There were more staff on hand before the pre-match rush c 12:30 - two of them disappeared by this time for their break leaving three staff to deal with the masses.

Needless to say my group went elsewhere after the game.

Extremely poor in view of previous enjoyable visits to Newcastle.

The Pineapple, Kentish Town

Have been here a few times over the past couple of months or so.

One of the best "proper" pubs I have visited in recent years in London - quick and attentive service, ensuring I always get my 20p CAMRA discount on a very well kept but regularly changing range of interesting fine beer.

The Thai food on offer is of a very good standard and real value formoney

The White Horse, Parsons Green

Great day out on Saturday - good service and great choice of ale at very reasonable prices (for London)

No sign of Sloanies probably due to the presence of one extemely pissed Chelski peroxide princess. Her rendition of amusing ditties which included a magnificent bawling out of "I'd rather be a Paki than a Yid" went down like a bomb. The song corresponded to the inscription on her replica football shirt "Hole 69"

The Exmouth Arms, Euston

One of the attractions of the TWH was that beers were priced uniformly. Yes you can get some verygood beer for a very reasonable price for London: JHB (2.70) and Harveys (2.80) but 4 for Summer Lightning and others @ 3.75 (only 4.3 ABV) is taking the piss.

Still very good service is provided whilst they have to charge you (reluctantly) 2.05 for a glass of cpke and 3 for a large bag of crisps - not so surprising then that they charge 7 for a burger.

Case is Altered, Old Redding

This pub has certainly improved under the new management. Good selection of guest ale at reasonable prices and good service. Hope the improvement can be sustained in the summer time.

The Cabbage Patch, Twickenham

Visited CP a few weeks ago for the first time. Service good but extortionate prices even for London for mediocre / very poor ale - Brains SA in particular tasted stale, verging on vinegar.

Give it a miss if you want decent ale.

Misty Moon, Northwood

This pub is a disgrace - it deliberately masquerades as a Wetherspoons pub with pub name and all associated fittings. Awful service , even worse clientele and rip off prices for mediocre beer

The Swan, Ruislip

No need to worry - pub now closed and incorporated into Cafe Rouge Chain!
