The Bell Inn, Bishops Lydeard

Pub is now closed and doesn't look like it will be reopening soon :-(

The Bell Inn, Bishops Lydeard

A fantastic little pub in the village. Went in a few months back and the place was empty - friendly chap behind the bar appeared, served us drinks, took our order and then disappeared off to cook our food! Liked it so much we went back the next night. There were a few people in then who were obviously locals but made us welcome anyway. Plus Bella the lab was great company!

The Refectory, Godalming

Great pub for eating or drinking. Lots of space and the old building has great charm and character. Food excellent although not the cheapest, but you feel like you get something for your money. Highly recommended.

Black Boy, Shinfield

More of a restaurant than a pub, including waitress service for some tables. Staff not very friendly if you just want a drink and it was packed on a Friday night! Also no dogs allowed indoors. Didn't try the food so can't comment on that, but won't be going back for drinks only.

The Buthay Inn, Wickwar

A nice pub thats easy to find on the main road through the village. Good food and a selection of beers is normally available. There is space whether you're eating or have just popped in for a drink so its very welcoming!

The Bell, Blackwater

Very scruffy inside, Big Brother on the telly, a bit of a locals pub. Strawberry cider nice though.

The Three Brewers, Wokingham

Popped in on a Tuesday night and the place was dead. Shame really, the guy behind the bar was friendly enough and the pool table is excellent. Pub itself is clean and tidy - I can't say the same about the gents...

The Bear, Crickhowell

A group of 17 of us visited on a Friday night. Not only did we get a table, but the staff gave us table service - something they don't usually do. Food was excellent and real ales went down well. By far the best pub in town!

The Nantyffin Cider Mill Inn, Crickhowell

Looks nice from the outside but it was shut! The pub closes in the afternoons between 3 and 6pm.

The Cricketers, Farncombe

Fantastic pub, good selection of beers and nice atmosphere. Highly recommended!

The Thatched Cottage, Farnborough

The best pub in Farnborough! Always rotating their selection of real ales and a nice atmosphere round the fire. Food is cheap and portions are of a good size even if some of it is microwaved. The landlady is very friendly and helpful and generally all staff in there are nice too. Highly recommended.

Great pub... no skittle alley any more though.

The Olive Tree, Jacobs Well

Interesting 'pub'...
Popped in to meet a few friends for a couple of drinks. As soon as I walked through the door the staff wanted to know why I was there, when I walked through the pub to see whether my friends had already arrived I thought they were going to shout at me to return to the bar and explain my actions.
After getting a drink I advanced towards a vacant table when again the staff behind the bar questioned me, wanted to know if I was eating and when I said no they pointed to the only 2 soft chairs in the whole pub (all the tables were made up with plates & cutlery), however as I was meeting friends they had to let me take a table. There were loads of free tables and it was a Wednesday night, this did not appear to be a problem.
Needless to say, felt very unwelcome and won't be going back. Not even for food - looked at the menu, very expensive!

The Britannia, Guildford

This is a fantastic pub on the edge of town. It was refurbished just over a year ago, they ditched the pool tables and brought in soft furnishings like leather sofas and carpeting. A vast improvement! The staff are always friendly and helpful, not bad food either. However, they have just taken the Erdinger pump away, and replaced it with Hoegarden! Other than that its a good place!

The Cricketers, Horsell

Large pub with period features although watch out for the low ceilings! Friendly staff and good beer including Old Speckled Hen. The sofas were a bit grubby but plenty of room to find a seat elsewhere. Also easy to find being right on the village green.

The Shepherd and Flock, Farnham

Fantastic pub, friendly staff and good food. There are always a wide selection of many different real ales on that constantly change from month to month.
