The Old England Forever, Clayton Le Moors

Great backstreet local enjoying somewhat of a renaissance under new ownership. Ethos definately is preserving old pub values (nice cosy snug) Currently stocking Bank Top Brewery ales from Bolton. Quiz nights Wednesday.

Peel Park Hotel, Accrington

Busy, spotless pub with 5 or 6 Real Ales on Tap just off Alice Street.
Quz nights Thursdays and Beer Festival last week in November when the choice of Ales doubles.

The Grey Horse Hotel, Accrington

Great prices.. great Sam Smiths Ales.. but the place is minging.a S"t Hole. I am guessing the cleaner has died and gone to heaven and the Landlord and/or Area manager are partially sighted or just like living in crap.

The Greyhound Inn, Accrington

Quirky Sam Smiths pub. Excellent beers and lagers. Cheap and cheerful food. Landlady is loud and brassy and as mad as a fish.

The Red Lion, Preston

A treasure of a pub, strangers to the area may need Mrs Garmin's help to navigate to the village of Preston but well worth the trip. Warm light and airy proper village hostelry with a good range of Guest Ales on tap. Tim the landlord very knowledgable about Britains beers and most helpful chappie. I trekked out there on the one night they don't do food (Tuesdays) but he still supplied me with supper.

Marquis of Lorne, Stevenage

Probably the grubbiest and smokiest pub in the area.
Flat beer and no sparklers on offer.
Friendly bar staff just don't make up for obvious neglect by the managers.
Be interesting to see what happens in the summer when the smoking ban kicks in.
