The Tottenham, Soho

Can't quite put my finger on it but... I just can't get excited about this pub, it always seems to let me down in one way or another. i.e. no real ale on. only 5%+ ales on, too busy, full of louts. If it's not one thing it's another, maybe I've just been tarnished by the place over the years - and its a real shame because some of the original decoration which still looks great does add atmosphere and could be condusive to a cracking little boozer.

The Jack Horner, Tottenham Court Road

A good Fullers Pie & Ale House. Superb Fullers Chiswick and good basic food at non-extortionate prices. Usually a good atmosphere straight after work a good place to unwind and sit-out rush hour.

The Coach and Horses, Covent Garden

Worth a visit for the salt beef sandwiches alone! They are just plain awesome! Usually well kept Courage and good Guiness add to the appeal. A great place to escape the heat in summer and cold of winter. A favourite pub of mine for people watching from the large front window. Also attracts quite a few celebs looking for a quiet pint during the day and night.

Fitzgeralds Sunderland, Sunderland

Probably my favourite pub (or at least a close second). The ever-changing real ales are kept to perfection, I have never and I mean NEVER had a badly kept pint in all the years "Fitzies" has been open. A cozy atmosphere and food at lunchtimes add to the lure of this attractive city centre pub (avoid the chips though - don't know how they cook them but they are crap!). Current bar staff aren't quite up to the standards set a couple of years ago when the staff offered the heady combination of being both stunning and really friendly. None-the-less this is Sunderlands best pub by miles.
