The George and Dragon, Norton

Well the new land lady has proved us all wrong, we thought it couldn't get any worse but it has. Now only recommended if you like drinking on your own

The Red Lion Inn, Norton

One of only 2 busy pubs left in Norton, the other being the Unicorn. Gets packed when the Boro matches are on as they have the illegal satellite tv, so best get in early if you want a seat. The beer and lager are kept well and the food is good value and basic. Worth a try.

The Acklam Hotel, Middlesbrough

now pulled down

The High Force Hotel, Forest-in Teesdale

Nice selection of real ales, and although the menu was quite limited the food was served well and tasted delicious. The best time to enjoy the place is of an evening when the mass of day trippers have drifted back home and the place has quietened down

The Royal Oak, Stockton on Tees

Very expensive for Stockton. Food is of a poor quality and the dcor is starting to look a little tatty. Fast gaining a reputation as a GAY bar

GW Horners, Stockton on Tees

This is definitely one for the hardened all day drinker. Cheep well, very cheep poor quality beer and lager and a dirty soiled environment frequented by the dregs of Stockton. Not recommended for anyone in clean clothes who likes good company and a decent pint

The Unicorn, Norton

Good honest village pub. No frills just good beer and good conversation. Now has a couple of plasma Tvs so good for the sports fan.

The Highland Lad, Stockton on Tees

Little more than a gypsy pub, trying hard to shake off its drug reputation, with a poor selection of poor quality beer and lagers. Has lots of potential thats not being exploited

The George and Dragon, Norton

Now known as Open all Hours by the locals, gets full of the dregs of Norton once all the other pubs have shut. Its a shame really as it has a good band of loyal uses most of which are dwindling away in favour of other pubs. The quality of the drafts is very hit and miss and can not be recommended. Now has the foreign satellite TV so premiership football fans will love it. Shows all the Boro matches home and away. Gets very smoky when full and this might put some people off.

Connections, Norton on Tees

Nice addition to the selection of hostelries available to drinkers in Norton. Reasonable selection of draft and bottled beer and lager. Nice relaxed atmosphere and gets quite busy at weekends
