City Arms, Wells

We visited this pub in late Novenber. Having taked it out of the Good Beer Guide a couple of years ago due to the rapidly falling quality of the real ales, we were very pleased to note that the beers this time were in very good form. Let's hope the improvement carries on.

The Hungerford Arms, Farleigh Hungerford

Now closed, sad to say. I've been going to this pub since I was a child (with my parents!), so fifty or so years of memories...
Let's hope it'll re-open soem time soon as it has great potential and the views from the garden are superb

The Horse and Groom, Westbury

Sadly this pub closed suddenly in late November (08). It seems the tenent, Leigh, who had put a lot of hard work in, got in to financial difficulties. It's to be hoped that the landlords will find another tenent. If not another genuine local pub bites the dust
