The Old Crown, Paganhill

Tries to be something and fails. Food is standard pub grub but you expect something more. The landlord sits on his backside the wrong side of the bar smokingand looking miserable.

Fountain Inn, Gloucester

Excellent pub. Feels like a country pub but it's in the heart of the city. A nice garden area and reasonable food at reasonable prices. Michelin starred it's not but for a place to rest and recuperate after a days shopping or before and after a trip to Kingsholm for the rugby, where better?

The Old Fleece, Woodchester

A real quality pub. If you want to stand and drink quality ales or wine or if you would like to sit and eat good qualtiy food then the Old Fleece is for you. It's already a non-smoking establishment but there is always the terrace outside. The food is excellent and the home made salad dressing can be brought from the bar. There is a good passing trade with many locals returning time and again, always a good sign.

The Bath Tavern, Cheltenham

The Bath Tavern is a small friendly local pub run by James and John. I guess it all depends what you are looking for but this is ideal for a good quality pint, friendly atmosphere and a clean and tidy place to socialise with nice people. Yes, the music is up and down but if you don't like what's playing take your own in and chances are they will play it for you, just take your ipod/CD along. I have travelled the world and drunk in pubs, clubs and bars on four continents, this one is right up with the best (just don't tell James or John said that)
