The Blue Peter, Polperro

Well well...in a sense I agree with you on this one eddiew. The site is not really for having a pop at staff.
Athough I do agree that if a host is less than friendly it should be allowed to be said. Having said that, I visit the Blue at least 2-3 times a year and have done for over 15years. Sometimes I have left barely able to stand up as the music and the beer has been that good, others I have found less enjoyable simply because it is a very 'foody' pub now and in doing that it has lost some of its character.
Sadly pubs need to do all they can to survive now and a good cellar, good food and a pleasant welcome are all I would ask for. These 3 things have recently always been available aplenty at the Blue and I find the landlord and landlady polite but very very busy.
In losing that 'time to chat' maybe they seem less welcoming?
But poisonous! In my opinion there is no place for that type of comment on here.

The Bullers Arms, East Looe

I think lbw is well and truly taking the pi** as well as talking aobut it a lot. See his comments on the fishermans too, raving looney or a local with a grudge?

The Jolly Sailor, West Looe

Just had a weekend break in Looe. Smashing pub, excellent beers and friendly bar staff.

Although, it must be disoncerting to have this sort of bother, a lot of the comments here relate to a holiday cottage and not the pub, its ale or its food. Think we could be In danger of losing the point of BITE here? There are several polperro forums if you want/need to discuss these particular issues?

The Crumplehorn Inn, Polperro

personally biker- I think you are talking rubbish. The registering of 'new' users on this site will always increase in the summer months when people have been on their holidays and found pubs to their liking or otherwise. This pub earned its place in the top 10 during the summer months. I would say that this is the case with many other top 10- BITE pubs. I wouldnt think anyone could actually be bothered to multiple register to 'up' or 'down' a pub. You prefer the Blue, so do others, but dont knock the Crump for its success even if it is tourist success. we offcomers do know our ales you know and this pub keeps a good cellar. Worth a visit.

sadly shabby and bit neglected atmosphere, but good beer if you dont mind that. seems a waste to have good outide area so neglected but maybe the bad summer doesnt help there.

The Old Mill House Inn, Polperro

Called in last week whilst walking in the area. Update my previous comment to massive improvment. good pub grub and looking very tidy, new smoke shelter is ideal for us outcasts.

The Harbour Moon, West Looe

We ate here in the restaurant last week and the service was very poor indeed. We waited an hour for our starter(despite a booking)and food was poor. Bread rolls still frozen in the middle and my lasagne was only aired in the middle. Clearly microwaved food at restaurant prices. Waitress was surly and when asked by the manager if she was ok, the response was 'no I shouldnt have come in'. Got it in one love- you shouldnt. Off my list now

The Noughts and Crosses, Polperro

Not the best in Polperro in my view. I did see some improvements on my last visit. Looked cleaner and I had a couple of very enjoyable local ales in there.

The Old Mill House Inn, Polperro

Call in when we are in Polperro as this pub has a decent sized beer garden by a stram.
Sadly found it looking a bit shabby and neglected this time round. Inside is fine though and serve a lovely pint.

The Blue Peter, Polperro

This is our favourite Cornish pub. Clean, good food, yeah for sure its not the cheapest it is but very good quality. Excellent choice of beers and Steve the landlord is always welcoming.
