What a turnaround! For years this pub has been a place to avoid, but new management seem to have made some great changes. New furniture, out with the trouble makers and a good food menu. Definitely a good family atmosphere now, with music and quizes, etc going on most nights.
Welcoming family atmosphere - totally different from how it used to be.

Gross toilets. Pub could use a good clean... but what an EXCELLENT PUB!!!! Always a wicked atmosphere, great band line-ups, fantasticly HUGE garden, really friendly bar staff. Best pub in Southampton by miles!

Always full of chavs and people looking for fights. Also a total drug den. To top it all off - the staff are SO rude. Steer clear.

Watch out for the weird old lady who calls herself the 'owner'. She will sit down at your table while you're trying to enjoy your meal and tell you about her bladder tablets and boring stories about how she likes to walk her dog. She is very snobbish, spoke down to us (and everyone else) the whole night and speaks to the staff like they're dirt . She single-handedly ruined my dining experience. Felt sorry for the staff all night, they are spoken to horribly and I won't be coming back here and the owners are clearly not very nice people.
