The Coach and Horses, Covent Garden

Whose that Irish geezer who reads the news on the telly? You know? Does the Egg head program on BBC2, with that Fat, ugly bloke who used to be a Tube driver (how'd he get in a train?), and that old male model who looks like something the Pyrimid builders played about with on their day off?
Dermot "what's his name"? He drinks here. Nice bloke. Ask him to read the food list out behind the counter? Very News at Ten.

The Fentiman Arms, Kennington

Dropped by on Christmas Eve morning at 11.45 in the morning, told it wouldn't open till 12. Despite Christmas, (ha,ha, humbug), wench didn't say have a pint and sit down in the warm, your not taking up any space etc. Said come back later? Ha, ha. No chance. Bye bye to my custom.

The Prince of Wales, Kennington

Great pub;always. However Mon Mate, Nick has left for a pub in Greenwich! Set them up old chap?

The Kings Arms, Waterloo

One of the very best kept beer secrets in London; only wish they had seats outside.

The Royal Oak, Borough

As a Borough boy I suppose I can honestly say that this is one of the very best of pubs in London.

The Lord Clyde, Borough

A London classic; highly recommended to true beer drinkers.

The Ring, Southwark

A clean, pleasant pub. Very well situated, especially for sitting outside and waiting to meet someone, (opposite Southwark tube). Highly recommended.

The Windmill Tavern, Waterloo

One of the very best pubs around; great bar service, good atmosphere and clean. Highly recommended.

The Stage Door, Waterloo

A very decent pub, worth seeking out down behind the Old Vic.
Good beer and good, chained seating boards for smokers to sit. Recommended.

The Duke of Sussex, Waterloo

A TOILET AT BEST.

The Hoop and Grapes, City Of London

A quick shuftey inside, confirmed the rumour of a sad old pub. Move onto the Cheshire Cheese or Olde Mitre instead.

Ye Old Mitre, Holborn

Glad to know that Chav man doesn't like the Mitre; far too well run a pub for such a low life character to understand the true meaning of life. Away and play with the traffic on the M1! Pond life!
An enjoyable, fun time of post Christmas merryiment was enjoyed within these hallowed walls yesterday. No once a year Yuletider to be seen or tolerated, thank goodness. Just good conversation, brillent beer and terrific toasted sandwiches, scotch eggs, pickled eggs and gerkins by the plateful in the most cosey and English of London pubs; run by a Scot and his goodly team. Highly recommended to all!
