Ye White Hart, Barnes

I'd been away from this pub for just over a week even though it's on my way home. It was always over-priced but tonight I had to 3.40 for a Kronenbourg!!! The atmosphere was always quiet but even the teacher's corner was empty. Is Young's on a deliberate campaign to drive away punters? Watch and see - next year you might see some prime Young's real esate going on the market!

I still rate the pub a 6 for the location and the general friendliness of the locals once you are known but now . . .I'm not sure.

The Tapestry, Mortlake

My closest boozer and I really like it. It's not a pub - if you want a pub then pop across the road to the Gardeners - it's a bar so fits perfectly with this site for having a beer in the evening. I love the place. Lucia is a great landlady - not too intrusive unlike that weird barman they have on sometimes.

When I first moved here I had dinner here and it was empty - now you have to struggle to get a table from Wednesday to Saturday - that's a compliment in itself! Excellent!

Ye Old Axe, Shoreditch

Had the luxury (or punishment) of a repeat stag on consectutive weekends! Went to Browns first weekend - apart from the dance with the really cute Venezuelan chick it was rubbish. Second weekend - the Axe! Wow! Great fun pub. Beer is rubbish. Spirits are watered down or made out of petrol but everything else is perfect. Nice low-down dirty strip joint! Perfect!

The Boathouse, Putney

I've been going to this pub on and off since it opened. It's gotten better lately but it still suffers from the problem common to all Youngs pubs - it's too expensive. 3.30 for a pint of 1664 is just extortionate! The staff make up for it but the fodd brings it down again. How long does it take to get a plate of chilli? Surely an hour is too long? It came lukewarm and on a freezing plate with parmesan shavings on top! Parmesan? On a chilli? Good pub to go to in summer but the expense and food let it down.

The Litten Tree, Putney

About to reopen as a Walkabout. Putney is going down the toilet fast.

The Pied Piper, Putney

This is now closed and is being replaced by a 'Bar Room Bar' according to the notice outside. It's getting a complete revamp rom the looks of it. It was an OK pub and Darain was quite a friendly landlord. A bit if a shame it's gone.

The Pig and Whistle, East Sheen

Avoid like the plague! Only go there if you want a fight. How this pub survives in this area totally escapes me.

The Tapestry, Mortlake

This is my local if you could call it that. It is more of a restaurant than a pub but it's quite a nice palce to have a chilled out beer after work. The staff are extremely friendly and very attentive especially if you are eating. Recommended for the food since I've eaten there four times in a week!

The Railway, Mortlake

Just moved to the area and this pub is about the best there. Different lagers (Hofbrau) to the norm but they taste pretty good. I haven't tried the food yet but from the number of people eating there I would suspect it's pretty good. Great place to chill out on a Sunday afternoon with the newspaper.
