The Queen Dowager, Teddington

I told you all a Year ago this Pub was a Khazi, but would you listen to me ~ owww no.

A Pub like this attracts Pikies and other low life like flies to a Dung Heap.

And to those who slagged me off twelve months ago, please don't transfer to the Adelaide - it's too good for you - may I suggest the Masons or Tescos Car Park with a take away.

The Pub where customers go to die...

Desperately needs something and I don't mean a rewire(Check out the new above surface wiring job).

The whole joint lacks something...it's like having a drink whist waiting for a train. Its better than no drink - but only just. I've never known a pub so lacking in atmosphere.

Now I'm not saying the Pub is crap - I'm not saying its good I'm just saying if the Pub is closed and you want to replicate the experience, just sit in the Dentists waiting room (actually they sometimes have tropical fish).

PS If there on your own don't expect converssation The Landlord and Landlady are only allowed to talk to their three or four friends.

John (below)is right. It's not Rocket Science. Redecorate it in a bland style, appoint dull people to run it, insist they follow the company policy to the letter and hey presto... a souless Pub taking a fraction of what it could/should.

This could be one of the best Pubs for miles.

Shepherd Neame - good beer but can't Manage a Pub in a Fit. PUT IN A TENNANT

NORMAN, PLEASE READ... It's still too bright in your Pub!!! Especially in the characterless 'land that time forgot' end by the Toilets.

Other than that well done. With Beer quality now resolved, all it needs now is a little imagination regarding the decor.

A nice little Pub well worth a visit.

Doggetts Coat and Badge, Southwark

Characterless Rip off.

Staff were on the fiddle when we were there on St.Georges Day - short measured everyone ESPECIALLY the foreign tourists. We estimated they made one pint in every seven they sold.

My suggestion: Sit on the Terrace, but bring your own Beer

Oh Dear... Beer quality poor and the unobtrusive delux slimline wall mounted Plasma large screen TV has been replaced by the Manager's own TV standing on a Table - Reason? Shepherd Neame have relocated the TV because the Adelaide isn't taking enough money!!!

Perhaps they shouldn't have spend 000s on a refurbisment which was completley unnecessary and most say the pub looks worse now than before!

Area Managers couldnt organise a Piss up in their own Brewery

I think The Pub Ghost has a point and I'm not sure if Norman should be critcised for only finding out that his beer is suspect by reading this website or congratulated for accepting he should do something about it!!
Whatever - I'll give Q.D another go.
Incidentally, Ive been using the Q.D infrequently for 20 odd years and the Special has on & off under a succession of Landlords.

14th March. A New Manager trying very Hard. He wasn't satisfied until he served me a perfect Pint!
Worth a visit.

Things are looking up (a little). The New Management must have told the staff that the customer is not the enemy.
I don't know about live music in this traditional Pub but at least it shows they are trying - what about a weekly quiz.

The Six Bells, Brentford

If you want fine beer, sophisticated conversation and mix with the creme of the Cafe society... move on.
If however anybody under the age of forty wants to experience the type of Pub their parents used to visit and listen to Fab sounds at the weekends, then the Bells is for you.
I live too far way to frequent on a regular basis, but on my rare visits I have been amazed how time seems to have passede this little gem by.
Some of the best music I have every listened to I heard at the Bells.
FULLERS, DEVELOPERS, MODERNISERS, HEALTH & SAFETY EUROPEAN LEGISLATION BE WARNED... do not interfer with a single item in this monument (unless you wish to give it Arts grant or some cultural award).
A visit to this Pub should be part of school's Curriculum.
Six Bells... Long may you ring.
