Not a lot going for it,very pricy! mike the'barman' has'nt realy a got a clue and seems to muddle his way, again in othr posts about other local pubs not he sort of place i want to eat in, to ma ny changes of chef? is a chef a chef or is the owner downsizing to what he thinks she be on tyhe menu?.
overall not a bad pub, beer needs to improve, drunks(habit drinkers at the end of the bar are intimidating)and should be moved on.
The owner should stop trying to shout about being the best "newcomer" and improve beer quality and atmosphere

Seems the landlady is allways trying to big up her own pub, your not doing a bad job "nualabs",
beer is quite good but the clients who muster at the bar are letting you down!
I only call in every now and then, and I have bought the wife in but she did not want to eat there(same as weatherspoons for atmosphere)
Yes these are negatives!!!! find a positive and I will pass praise.

Landlord has been given his marching orders by Sheps, about time!
will all the idiots transfer to the "hole" when the clean up begins?

No change, same faces at the bar,
My pint was great, Incubus from Hopdeamon.
Work on it , I would not eat here because of the faces at the bar effing and blinding, would take my lady elsewhere.

Called in last week, what a let down! the owner is more interested in himself than running a good pub, beer is not up to much(run of the mill ales) not kept very well with over large head and over large price.
more going on in the resuruant than eating food, poetry evenings! how to big yourself up!
Pub needs to improve beer quality and reduce price, try some local ale and get rid of the big national brands.

food is exellent, beer is awfull, better to order a bottle of wine, its been in the bottle the same time the beer has been in the barrel, not the best pub!!!!!!!!!!!! for the drinking man.

Opening soon, will watch this one, the crew from the Anchor will soon be in residence, ales, NOT poncie food, pubs are pubs, not resturuants with a bar.

Been away for a while serving Q & C, what a change!, real ale on offer, still a few piss heads in the bar,and a paint job will not make it "the wine vaults"but a change for the better, still"the hole" and will be for a long time needs more than a name change and a ale on the pump, worth a visit to notice changes.

Wonderfull, a real pub, just a little way out of town.
Five beers to try all kept very well,Goachers of Maidstone,Hopdeamon,Whitstable and Dark star to name a few, visited on Friday(22)very busy but was greeted by a 'hello will be with you in a moment' tried Green Deamon first and enquired about mild? was told next barrel on is Highgate dark, and mild is normally available at all times.
Great little pub, worth the trouble of crossing the tracks from town.

The Sun, Faversham

Overpriced flat beer, if this is Shepherd Neames flagship pub in thier own town it may not be worth visiting any other, had to wait ages to be served while bar staff chatted to their mates then had to return first pint as cleaning fluid was still present, tried a bottle of "finger" as nothing else was on offer. a real let down.
Nice pub,nice location,garden lovely,needs better manager,cellar man and staff.

The Railway Hotel, Faversham

bar staff are young and friendly but do not have much of an idea about beer, Landlord is never around as was informed,to busy being self important!!, Shepherd Neame Masterbrew was only beer on offer, drinkable but a bland will call again during Hop festival(end Aug)overall a decent pub, more choice of ales is required and a stay at home landlord.over hyped with not much character.

Not my first visit but will be my last, thought I would try another visit before posting.
beer is vile, the pub itself is vile and the so called landlord and his girlfriend(dog) think they above their punters, one of the worst pubs I have visited.
Loud music and televisions blasting you with endless crap, sour beer, sticky bar and carpets, two "ladys" fighting over a piece of silver foil and two drunks behind the bar trying to be '"your hosts".
