Encore, Southampton

Came in here last night, I was immediately struck by the hostility of the fat pa*i waitress. Their was a blonde piece but she was no better, and the fat bloke was a useless waste of space. My pal had difficulty gaining adequate directions to the toilet, and I had trouble getting a good pint. The beer was shocking, really crap, the adnams smelt of arse, take my word for it, don't bother coming here! shi)t hole, nuff said.

The Nursery Tavern, Coventry

the mistake you CAMRA types are making is of form over content. yes it looks the part, but:

if a dog is born in a stables, does that make it a horse?

ps: why does this site insist on censoring my honest and well put comments. I dont just criticise, i sing the praises when its deserved. stop your fascist censorship of me!

The Dog and Duck, Soho

Went into this place saturday.

its a very charming looking place, and the bar staff were freindly and helpful. They had 'old peculiar' on, but it was an absolutely criminal effort, flat, stale, stinking of vinegar type of affair. to their credit i had it changed easily enough, explaining it was tosh. the 8 stone russian bar maid had a taste, then realised how ludicrous she probably looked trying to appear more knowledgeable than a rather fat 6ft 2" midlands meat head, and kindly agreed with my professional opinion that the beer was shite.

the staropramen was off so i opted for the stella, which was average.

Flying Standard, Coventry

what more could you ask for if your on a mission to get twisted. all the usual fun of the spoons, cheapo drinks and jugs, the people in here are sound, totally harmless. one of the better places in town.

Courtyard, Coventry

this ain't a bad joint, lively in the evening, beer ain't the best but there's a bit of choice and its well located, cash machines couldn't be closer, just watch out for the scum bags around that Cov Economic corner.

The Golden Cross, Coventry

In any other city this building would be protected and well looked after, not in Cov.

Fancy handing this place over to a bunch of goth student chimps. These animals can't even look after their own personal hygiene, let alone keep a pub clean and tidy. This place is over-priced and has very little to offer, if you don't look like a dirty freak then you'll get no respect from these chumps. Black is the colour to wear and staple bits of metal onto your face, mug a tramp for his clothes and you'll fit right in with these societal rejects.

Browns Cafe Bar, Coventry

This place is a total joke.

I have always detested the place but over the years I've been in probably about 10 times. Two months ago I went in with a friend of mine, we were both blasted, totally trashed, we were quite loud and my friend knocked his glass of the table and they replaced his beer! All in all we were terrible customers, and were treated well.

Last week, totally sober and smart I strolled up with a more respectable friend. There is no way they recognised me, but like a lot of decent people I got the 'I don't have to give a reason' speech from some short, fat, unshaven hobbit creature on the door with his two boyfriends. What a tallywacker! This place is definately operating an ageist, rascist, heterophobic policy aimed at keeping students safe, sodomy in, and sense out. These slack-jawed apes running the door need a lesson in manners and taste. This place needs a picket.

The Stag's Head, Offchurch

Decent little place, nice and clean. Had a Jennings Cumberland Ale when I was last in here, that particular ale ain't my favourite but i appreciate the fact it was well kept all the same.

The Bull Inn, Weston Under Wetherley

no good for a serious drink but they do a lovely sandwich with crisps, goes down a treat with their well kept ale. especially if your bunking off work, tastes extra good. Abbott Ale last time I was in there.

The Red Lion, Hunningham

Isolated this pub lies 4 miles to the back of Long Itchington and the superior ales of the Buck et al, however, the nearest pub to here is the Bull in Weston Under Wetherley which is a food pub (although does have good abbott). The Red Lion at Hunningham is a Green King Pub and usually serves a decent Abbott or IPA. Very popular on a Sunday for food. Beware, this pub is close to a river which often bursts its banks and cuts off your approach from weston.

The Fletch, Coventry

In the past I have had a decent beer in here, but let me recount a little story from the recent trip. . .

Thirsty for a beer, I'd been at work until 9pm I went out in search of some beer and perhaps a little snatch. The first few places I tried didn't come off at all well, in Tile Hill my fav's were off the pumps so it was into the motor and down the road to the fletch. Disaster! I watched with horror as il plumpo poured off my Bombardier, it had about as much life in it as a frenchie napoleonite after a good thumpin from a british bombardier. I said to her with meaning in my voice 'izzat ok luv?', well she thought it was fine but let me tell you, it was as rough as a badgers b******s. i shalln't make that mistake again. i dont often say this about a pub, but its time to shut up and die.

The Frog and Rosbif, Paris

beer by the pint in Paris is a nightmare. a real nightmare...unlesss your loaded. It is not uncommon to spend 8-11 euros on a pint, a stein is at least 14 euros, and even then its for pish like heiniken! My advice is drink wine and soda or gin and soda to refresh, then hit the red wine to get twisted. otherwise you'll be totally broke.

The Jug and Jester, Leamington Spa

What a filthy establishment. The atrocious quality of the beer is a good compliment to the appalling moral standards of the bar staff. beer out of those taps and from their hands is beer best left on the bar. don't make the mistake of entering this den of sodomy.
