The Seven Stars, Bristol

Nice to know aem is still about......but what other pub review sites are there ?
I always looked forward to his reviews as he clearly knew what he was talking about.

The Three Crowns, Chippenham

Reopened last week.
Emphasis now on real ale and cider.
Generally 4/5 beers on including a dark beer and 2/3 ciders from the barrel plus a perry.
All beers and ciders tried so far have been excellent (only slightly marred by the Cotswold Honey Bear which wouldn't drop bright).
30p discount if you show your CAMRA card.
Thoroughly recommended.

Bell Inn, Lacock

Was in at around 3pm the day after their beer festival hoping some of the beer would still be on.
It was but had been moved onto the pumps.
I had a very nice Milk St Beer and I also tried the Bulmer's Traditional Cider which was too sweet for me but perfectly drinkable. In fact I didn't know Bulmer's still did a *traditional* cider.
Landlord very friendly with at least three other staff on but pub quiet, apart from me and the wife there were only four others in.
However, don't let that put you off......recommended.

Sir Issac Pitman, Trowbridge

Had a look in yesterday whilst wife was shopping.
Fairly tired looking Spoons with Abbot,Ruddles,Milk St Funky Monkey and Okells Smoked Peat Porter on at under 2 a pint and a couple of pumps with *coming soon* on them.
I had the Okells which was ok but no better.
Pub very busy at 2pm on a Sat afternoon.

Wetherspoons have a formula which you either like or you don't.
Some Spoons are better than others.
This one is satisfactory and I would visit again.
