The Mitre, Greenwich

Vinnnie and Daniel should read Liber's complaint with more thought: s/he's mainly referring to the HOTEL - which truly is a horrible dump (I had to stay there one night in December after locking myself out).

The pub, on the other hand, is what it is: a decent pub with plenty of room outside for summers, good service and decent pub grub (I don't remember eating there myself but don't remember anyone with me complaining about their meals). Nothing special but does its job well.

Wibbly Wobbly, Surrey Quays

Mr Gravy - I spent a sunny Saturday afternoon (the last of the summer, it now seems) at this pub - and the bar food was atrocious! I had bangers&mash and the sausages were completely dry and the mash was from a sachet (or at least tasted like it was) and the jacket potato tasted burned.

Bar service was a bit slow but we weren't in a hurry.

Will prob go again for the drink but will never eat there again.

The Gate Clock, Greenwich

Alex_Bradford,

Yes, I walk past the Wetherspoon's on a daily basis and I've seen a good few fights and plenty of aggro outside it. Usually some 'ladies' with plenty of onlookers.

I do sometimes stop for a quick and cheap pint&meal when it's not busy, but as it's also very rough I don't linger.

(The frisking is news to me, though not surprising)

The Gipsy Moth, Greenwich

Gypsy Moth's service is notoriously bad - the beer garden's great for summery days and the food is good pub grub, but people normally happy to get the next round are put off by the sloooow service. Food also takes forever to arrive, even when it's not busy.

I will continue to go there for the beer garden and will most likely to take visitors for a weekday afternoon meal - when we have plenty of time. But shame about the service!.
