The Brook Green Hotel, Hammersmith

Just visited here for a quick work lunch and was pleasantly surprised at how friendly and laid back the staff and place is. Winter Warmer was lovely, as was my BLT sandwich. The Irish barmaid was efficient, friendly and lovely. She even lent me her newspaper from her bag as I had forgotten mine! Will be back

New Inn, Hayes

Got told about this pub by a mate who said it was now quite a trendy, vast bar after the Harvester refurb. I have to admit, I was very impressed. I went on a friday night and it was rammed, but the staff were so quick you would have thought it was a quiet night. It seemed to be more of an over 25 crowd which suited me fine. Apart from the drunk bloke who took the mick out of my 70's retro jacket about 10 times, a pleasant night was had

The Phoenix, Denmark Hill

Visited a mate in Denmark Hill recently and he uses this as his local. I was a bit sceptical as although it looked nice from the outside I haven't had that many great experiences with station pubs. However, I had a great night in there; the layout and design is top notch, the drinkers there were very friendly and it was generally a nice vibe. My only quip would be that the barman served 2 attractive women first even though I'd been at the bar 5 minutes. I'm no Brad pitt, but come on, play the game!

The Jolly Woodman, Beckenham

Have recently moved to the area and was told of many good things about this pub.....I wasn't disappointed; the Landlord is a very welcoming chap, the ale is brilliant, and considering it is a small pub and very close knit, I never felt an outsider. Will be frequenting this delightful local a lot more.
