The Toby Carvery, Lower Earley

Oh come on, you can't seriously consider a 'pub' with a name like this can you?

Food's great though, especially Sunday roast.

Yates's, Reading

I liked it when it was a post office.

Santa Fe, Reading

actually its quite a decent bar with excellent food and lovely staff but attracts the kind of fools who generally like to be seen drinking in the Oracle. God knows why.

Mordello beer is yummy and they do the best Mexican food in Reading. Nice sofas too.

Sahara, Reading

i wish people would stop saying this is for the 'in crowd'. it's something that puts me off as i do not want to meet pretentious 'in crowd' people like me. i'm a complete arse!

BTW its a great little bar with excellent staff and sofas.

The Pitcher and Piano, Reading

This bar has been a revellation for me for some odd reasons;

1. the staff are without exception their greatest asset - friendly, funny, sexy, cheeky, efficient, helpful, attractive, welcomming!

2. the draught lagers are really nice and i don't like lager.

3. an almost perfect juke box/music selection.

4. frequented by interesting business people.

One major criticism and also an opportunity for the management; free wifi and plug sockets would attract so many more monied/business types.

Bar Four, Reading

i lost my 'smart phone' stylus here which probably says more about me than the bar... the staff are lovely and all i can remember (apart from losing my sad little pen) is wandering out far far later than expected!

The Allied Arms, Reading

great pub, lovely if few staff, mellow customers - they may have been a bit drunk - fabulous garden with the biggest pub umbrella in Europe - they even have heating outside! great music that makes you go "ooh do you remember this at school?" and then fall over either from heat exhaustion, beer excess or pure joy!

The Alehouse, Reading

Quite simply the best pub in Reading by a country or town mile. Perfect and then some...you either belog or you can bog off!

3Bs, Reading

I do all my business meetings here because they have free wifi access at the Town Hall and also they have lovely staff, great food and very comfy sofas!

Outside is a great place to sit in the sun and admire the fine architecture of the Town Hall and Reading Museum.
