The Pantmawr Inn, Pantmawr

What a gem of a pub . Just wish I lived a little closer. Choice of ales and the food was brilliant value 6 for a rib eye steak. The kind of pub you could stay in all night.

The Birchgrove, Cardiff

The Three Pilchards, Polperro

Much improved since change of ownership. Good beer and dog friendly too

The Church Inn, Ludlow

Super pub with a fabulous atmosphere. Great choice of ales and cider.
I questioned the taste of a pint and without question the landlord replaced it, and brought it to my table to make sure it was okay. You dont get the in wetherspoons!!!!

The Unicorn Inn, Ludlow

Renovated to a high standard after last years floods where the water was 6 foot deep inside the pub. A good range of ale and excellent bar food with friendly bar staff.
Never tried the restaurant but looked nice.
Sweet beer garden overlooking a small river though I couldn't apreciate it due to the rain...

The Globe, East Looe

Car park in the pic has been replaced by beer garden. Superb beer and the landlord who has been there for a year or so has really tidied up a once tired pub.
just far enough away to keep the airbed carrying trippers away.

The Harbour Moon, West Looe

Worth going on a friday just to hear the worst Karaoke you have ever endured and I have been going back for 10 years without improvement .
Lovely harbour views from the panoramic windows and a freindly atmosphere.
Top class sea food if a bit restaurant priced and well kept beer

The Salutation Inn, East Looe

fascinating pub with pictures of dead rod caught sharks hanging up everywhere(before we knew better)
Brilliant freindly bar staff with reasonably priced pub food.

The Bullers Arms, East Looe

Along with the Fishermens this is a proper pub.
The good, the bad and the ugly all in one place.
Great night out.

The Decker, East Looe

Nice chilled out bar with good food and good portions, a million miles away from the London priced Restaurants that surround it.

The Fishermans Arms, East Looe

I'm a "tripper" but have always found it friendly.
Good beers, no food.
Dogs are aloud as long as it is kept away from the miserable boxer.
A great pub.

The Admiral Boscarn, East Looe

Beer garden is nice but the rest of this dump needs flattening. Full of chavy kids with their fake Burberry clad children. Looks like it hasn't been renovated since the Bay City Rollers were No1.

The Blue Peter, Polperro

Lovely warm friendly pub but can get overcrowded to the point of being uncomfortable. Great beer and cider and superb food. Recommendedif there is the slightest bit of room

The Crumplehorn Inn, Polperro

At the top of the hill is this fabulous old pub, lovely beer garden, really welcoming bar in winter{and wet summer days!!!) Great food and drink.

30 Jun 2008 22:52

The Retreat, Llanedeyrn

Proper bar lounge and bar division so you can meet friends in the bar or have a pint with the wife in the lounge. Used to have a dodgy reputation but is a nice pub now

The Bulls Head, Chiswick

90/10 toward food rather than beer and as beer is what this site is about it gets marked down slightly.
Fine to pop in for a pint with er indoors but inpossible to find a seat and would also feel awkward if you went there with the lads just in case the volume increased above a whisper.

29 Jun 2008 16:34

The City Barge, Chiswick

Seems a bit grubby and tired. Friendly staff though!!

29 Jun 2008 16:27

The Bell and Crown, Chiswick

Great pub with good service.Food a little expensive but what do you expect cosidering the location

29 Jun 2008 16:24

The Dovetail, Clerkenwell

Firstly don't expect a cheap belgian bar, as you are buying a premium product not a pint of swill.
Good continental cafe feel with a great selection of beers and the wildboar sausage is fabulous

29 Jun 2008 16:16

Lowlander, Covent Garden

Certainly not cheap but a great choice of beers.
If you want cheap and cheerful there are plenty of JD's and Sam Smiths in the area.
Plenty of character with an authentic continental feel.

29 Jun 2008 16:10

De Hems, Soho

Great choice of Euro beers espesh Belgian and Dutch.
Staff know their beer too.
Will visit again

29 Jun 2008 16:05

French House, Soho

Superb atmos, and Breton Cidre, a gem

29 Jun 2008 16:02

The Halfway Inn, Dunwear

Yo Yo what are you trying to insinuate!!
I have no ties with this pub, in fact I live 80 miles away and if any pub would have given the same service I would have responded the same.
Are you a bitter owner of one of the less friendly pubs in the area as you left a rating without even mentioning whether or not you had actually visited the
hostalery.

The Halfway Inn, Dunwear

What a superb welcome from the hosts.
We arrived too late for food on Sunday night after paying 15 for taxi after reading the reveiws on this site.
Feeling sorry for us the landlord fired up the grill and made two fantastic, quality ribeye steaks. We stayed for hours and really enjoyed ourself.
Glad we found this pub and will deffo be back, hopefully in time for Sunday lunch

The Dovetail, Clerkenwell

Is it a bar, is it a pub, who knows? Don't care after a few lethal belgian beers.
The staff I spoke to were helpful with the beer selection too!
Just a pity it isn't open all weekend!!
