Not the same lovely little pub since the smoking ban can in, the garden is far too enclosed, but the effort was made.

The whole experience was awful, the food was cold, the service was poor and the staff were rude.

Having again eaten in here I am still not impressed. The staff seem untrained and several with attitude and the landlady still seems more interested in keeping the ex plough customers happy ! You can change a name and tart a pub up this is and always will be the Blacks and for gods sake bring back some of the old faces, they are better than the new

Its a shame so much effort is being made with this pub but it is like flogging a dead horse.
The food could be better and the staff more inviting

The food and drink are good but with no entertainment it was boring. People used this pub for the sport and now it has been done away with as have many of the once regulars will probably be found in the Maverick ! How long will it be before it turns back into a real drinkers pub you can change the name but you can't change the history once the Blacks always the Black !

After attending the so called opening night we wait with baited breath to see what happens. And knowing the landlady came from another pub locally, which was run badly and had some very choice staff as well customers lets see how long it is before she brings this place to its knees

Why have all the previous comments been removed, oh yes Charlie is in the move and he thinks that removing the comments will make it a better place.................
Lets hope the new people make a better job of the place and get rid of the undesirables that Charlie holds in such great esteme
