i went in to this pub for the first time in ages recently and it seems to have had an atmosphere makeover as it was pleasant and busy again .. might even try the food next time !

this pub is much better these days , the food is usual JDW fayre , great value on a budget .... their beer cant be faulted . so much better than the other JDW in eastbourne !!!

The Wheatsheaf Inn, Willingdon
wow ... we went down here for the recent beer festival ... wow again , no charge to get in ( free glass con ) great beers and fantastic atmosphere inside and outside in the street !!!

we stayed here and found the food excellant and the beer good . the only odd thing was , after returning from harrogate at 10.40 pm , the bar was closed !!! lucky we had a key to accomodation .

we found this place after a recommendation from the stag pub down the road who wouldn't serve food at 8pm ... their lose and our gain ... good selection of beer and food . the bar was busy but soon cleared after the frantic efforts from the pleasant staff.

this restaurant / pub is now a table table and is all the better for it . the staff are welcoming and cheerful . the beer is good and the food is good value too . there aren't many " pub regulars " because of the location but is still a nice place .

this JDW pub hasn't been open long but is the pits already . Rude barstaff and ruder management ... along with the usual suspects as customers . the other JDW is better for this one opening !

a one off this one , cant be compared as it is on its own . should be visited to make up your own mind . dont blame me .

out of the way pub with great beer , old school charm of times gone by ... saloon was closed but the public bar was empty and a step back in time ... nostalgia central .

nice cosy pub , but a bit too twee . lovely beer and food , lacks charm but overall clean cut and efficient .

best pub in lewes ... great beer , food , staff and atmosphere ... only drawback is its a bit cramped . still worth a visit .

i've been here a few times now and the most recent is the fullest i've seen it ... i think it is better for the addition of live music .

i think a change of name would have helped as this place carries a reputation from its previous incarnation .. . not as bad as it is painted .

one of the nicer pubs in lewes , people watching in the front bar is spectacular ... oddballs united . great beer adds to the mix .

this pub is a step back in time , no frills here just good beer and food set in a lovely old pub and gardens . very nice place full of locals enjoying the harveys. the only downside was the limited range of food and drinks .

lovely location , good food and beer . harveys and dark star also draught perry ? great food in a pleasant and quiet place . this place seems very well run and the staff are professional . not the cheapest but the quality shows through .

as mentioned before by other reviewers , this is a restaurant !!! food and service above average but too many tables crammed in and no room for drinkers to sit. i would recommend this if you want good food but maybe on a week night as is so busy weekends .

as previous reviewer says "cavernous and scruffy" and NO ale on sale , waiting for delivery apparently .

a real blokes boozer , proper beer and grub . saw 2 geezers nearly fall over on bog steps ... always good fun !

i'd heard so many things about this pub and was surprised how unspectacular it was , it was more unique. smaller than i imagined and much sleepier , still interesting though .

The Hay Waggon Inn, Hartfield
four of us visited the haywagon for a late sunday lunch . we were pleased to see a full menu for bar food as the restaurant is closed in the afternoon. the food was very good as was the beer . good size portions and great service too . we will visit again when in the area .
