The Sportsman, East grinstead

Very small and cosy. Can get loud with music and customers at times.Whatever you do,don't ask Rodders behind the bar to tell you a joke!
A proper boozer (the bar--not Rodders--though on second thoughts......)

The Ryde Castle, Ryde

stayed here in the middle of winter--expensive prices(its a hotel) for drinks, food nice, but a lot of it was unavailable at the time, very young staff, who seem to lack direction.

The Opera House, Tunbridge Wells

wonderful building, terrible staff, even worse customers--best thing about the place is seeing drunk seventy year olds totter about after 2pm.very entertaining.

Ounce & Ivy Bush, East Grinstead

typical spoons.
food bland, dont even bother trying to get a pint after 8 on a friday or saturday-20 deep at the bar.
breakfast bearable when you manage to catch a day when a cacophony of mothers with babies havent nested in there.

The Broadway, East Grinstead

a kids playground since the oz landlords departed.
proud parents getting drunk whilst their brats run around causing havoc.
gone is the early evening relaxing pint after work .avoid if you want a quiet pint after a hard day at the office.

The White Horse Inn, Edenbridge

landlord clearly knows his way around a kitchen--struck me as being an ex-forces veteran more adept and feeding 100's than maybe an odd coupla dozen on a sunday--excellent grub--recommended.

The Brewers Arms, Lewes

A very pleasant surprise.
Randomly chose it for lunch, can't rate the value for money highly enough--2 decent sized lunches under a tenner--excellent--thoroughly recommended if you're just dropping by and in need of sustenance.
